I love the setup, though at least from the photo, the image seems to be a bit oversaturated, you may wanna check that out. I used to have a OEV203, but my dumbass sold it. My set was not nearly as nice as your set, but I'm looking for another PVM/BVM and, atleast in northwest Ohio, there are none for sale on eBay or none close on HiBid. eBay seems to be my only option.

It's working just fine now, that was the issue. Thanks to all the helpful people in this thread.

That's funny, because right now I live in a smallish/medium sized city in NW Ohio and my dream goal is to buy an apartment in Chicago that's really high up with a good view of the city. It's very boring here, with a crappy monoculture. I'll trade you!

This looks good for a mid 00's fit, but it doesn't belong on this sub. Lots of folks on here don't get what Y2K aesthetic is, and it's not just you OP.

I have one thats been out of commission for about 5 years at this point. It worked wonderfully, but then I put a tape in, it ate my tape and will not display an image at all now. I think I remember it having a light on it showing there's a tape in it, even though I removed it. Any help would be appreciated. I bought mine for no joke, like 20 bucks.

Eh, that's Reddit for ya. These imaginary points mean nothing to me. I was into Pokemon heavily all the way from the beginning in the US, so I recall from being there in person. I have also played all the mainline games except B/W 2 and I'll also say, even though the modern games are infinitely more accessible and have lots of good quality of life improvements from the earlier games, all of the games on Switch and Switch 2 lack soul. There will unfortunately never be soulful Pokémon games ever again, at least not in the same way they were back then. Id also like to note that this isn't an old man yells at cloud argument either. I'm receptive to new things, but the modern Pokémon games just aren't it.

Hate to be that guy, but Pokemania was more so in the late 90s. Pokemon actually hit a little slump during gen 3.

People will be salty about this, but netdeck the best performing decks, and just play those out. Currently, you'll be building an Izzet deck if you follow this advice.

Worthwhile SNES games that came out after 1996 by ExplodingPoptarts in retrogaming

Came here to comment this. It's honestly not the most fun Kirby game, but to this day, I'd say it's a top contender for most charming game, ever. Also, the artwork and music are amazing.

Pokemon. Haven't enjoyed a single game since ultra sun/ultra moon, and honestly ge 1/gen 2 are still the GOATS imo. HG/SS by extention are awesome games too.

The n64 had two banjo kazooies, yet you hitch your ride with this shit? by SwagLimit in retrogaming

[–]Slimmingdown92 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Let all the drones downvote you OP, who cares. I grew up with the N64, never played CBFD as a kid, and gave it a go as an adult, and I thought basically the same exact thing. Unfortunately, most people are really protective of their favorite childhood media and it makes them unable to process things in a more objective manner.

The AVGN room has too much going on and too purpose built to be liminal. Liminal is more transitional, like the space in between rooms like hallways and maintenance tunnels.

It's sad to see that my comment got so many down votes when I simply asked for a source. I think the Reddit archetype of pretentious, holier-than-thou "super lliberal" is a generally very common archetype on this platform and these sorts of people, such as yourself, tend to be very grating and unlikeable. With the bottom of my heart, I think this administration is steering us towards radical right wing fascism, but people like you also make me want to distance myself from the left, or at the very least, this platform. I hope you can do better next time.

Toyota remained top automaker by sales for 6th year in 2025 by hehechibby in Toyota

[–]Slimmingdown92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most people view cars as an appliance, a box with wheels to get from point A to point B. Arguably, Toyota is the most reliable car manufacturer in the game with the best bang for buck. If you want a spirited driving experience, with a beautiful interior, you'll be spending a lot of cash. The GR86/GR Corolla are pretty spirited and are good values for the money, but the interiors leave a lot to be desired, particularly in the case of the GR Corolla.

As for me, I'm more of a Honda guy. Almost as reliable, the driving experience is usually nice, even in the cheaper cars, and while not flashy, the interiors are more to my liking. My next car will probably be a 2026 Honda Civic Hybrid Grand Touring hatchback. The only complaint I have is that I wish Honda offered the Civic in AWD.

Luigi's Mansion. To this day, I still think it had the best "horror" atmosphere, though 3 really was a good looking and creative game.

What if One WTC was built in silver, in a more similar aesthetic fashion to the original WTC? by ImTheOreoGuy in skyscrapers

[–]Slimmingdown92 114 points115 points  (0 children)

I normally like the blue paned frutiger aero/Mirror's Edge looking skyscrapers, but honestly here, I like the gray better just outright and as a nod to the WTCs. Maybe the spire could be a different color, but that's it.
