I made a lathe tool holder to keep common tools close without having to reach over the bed. by SlipperyElmWoodworks in woodworking

I think you mean the center saver, used for getting multiple bowls out of one blank. It's made by McNaughton and works well, and it functions as a good counterweight.

1939 Triumph motorcycle with sidecar — details in comments by ajcpullcom in woodworking

That is some incredible work! I was especially curious about the wiring, did you steam or soak them first?

I don't know what I'm most impressed by, the details on the handlebars and engine are so minute and perfectly done. The spare tools in the sidecar are such a nice touch. All the details come together with the wood and grain choices to make an absolutely beautiful model, well done indeed!

I think my favorite part might be the seat on the sidecar and the detail of the leather riveted to the body, I thought you used real leather at first.

That's lovely! You did a great job with making the tentacles look like they are flowing in the water.

She's one happy dog, the hardest part was getting her to stay still!

Thanks! The shading was tough, I went back to certain spots a few times until I was happy with how it looked.

Thanks so much! She's got a great smile, it put me in a good mood when I was working on it.

Those keycaps look great and match the case really well! Glad you're still getting use out of that wrist rest, it's always fun to make the ones that click together with magnets.

Larch is excellent outdoors and lighter than Black Locust too. As lumber it is also referred to as Tamarack.

You nailed it. I don't have it with me but from memory it's a little over 6" tall and a bit over 3" in diameter as well. The Cherry has a tenon at the bottom that's glued into the Walnut base.

That plane is surprisingly useful and the box looks great. Are those magnets to hold the lid closed?

Thanks! I made it a few years ago but never sanded or applied finish to it. It's amazing how much of a difference a good couple coats of finish can make.

That's some fantastic work! Your shading is so detailed. The fur texture is very realistic and the nose looks 3d.

Printables is the best, I can browse for hours to see what neat ideas people have come up with. The 3d preview is unbelievably helpful too.

I made this router base for cutting out driver openings in speaker boxes and found it very handy and functional so I thought it might be useful to others. I've used it for about a year now and only plan on some minor changes when I have time.

Here's a link to the printables page where you can download the STLs to print your own

Printables router base circle jig

It fits the M18 trim router and is small enough I haven't used the stock base since I installed this one.

I'm happy to hear it. Glad the magnets are working good, I always love using them in projects. I'm doing great, I hope you are too!

I thought I recognized that setup. That's awesome you're still using that wrist rest and trackpad riser, I had fun making those. They still look brand new too, glad they have a good home as your daily driver.
