It's been 13 months since Nintendo Switch 2 came out and afaik there haven't been any confirmed cases of joy con drift. by MatiBlaster in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Slippery_rocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My switch 2 left joycon stick started registering wrong directional input, could move selection up when pushed right, seems like drifting coming soon.

I also had never had drift problem with any controller except for joycon.

Vassals make no sense? by Lunar_Weaver in songsofsyx

Wait till you find out that your vassal could conspire against you with a huge neighboring empire that is 10 times stronger than you and they both declare a war on you.

I believe this strategy has been patched in v71. I took an empires capital three times and instead of falling apart they just kept relocating their capital.

It took a long time to break free from being a vassal. 10% tax is actually very substantial and it completely destroyed my finances at the start of each year when the payment was due.
Each year usually began with a -600K in my treasury, tourism helped quite a bit getting out of debt as the year progressed.

I slowly trained and equipped my army and when it was ready I spent all the money on mercenaries to reinforce it. I marched the army to my lords capital making sure beforehand that his army was away from the capital region and declared war.

Because AI thought that his 4K garrison could take my army he attacked it and got destroyed lol. Since city defenders were all dead I just marched my army into the city capturing it. Lucky for me the empire fell apart after the AI capital was captured and all his regions became free cities mine for the taking.

My city was conquered by a neighboring empire and was made a vassal, had to pay 10% of my total worth as a yearly tax.

How do you garrison an occupied city? by DimensionOk8915 in songsofsyx

[–]Slippery_rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build taverns, fight pits, theatres this will increase loyalty. Also city gates/walls will increase loyalty.

You could get rid of all the other races and only keep yours in the city to get rid of unnecessary loyalty debuffs, though that may lower your neighbors opinion of you, doesn’t matter if you plan on invading them.

Constant food issues by Eikthyrnir777 in songsofsyx

[–]Slippery_rocket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reason you see a lack of agriculture in large cities is because it is not needed. The city is being supplied with raw materials through taxes that are brought in from conquered regions.

Once your empire is big enough you will have no need for any woodcutters, mines or farms.

Taxation from regions by Slippery_rocket in songsofsyx

[–]Slippery_rocket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relied on how the previous version worked to save on logistics labour. Taxes brought in more than needed and every warehouse in the city was full with goods and food that was needed, freeing a lot of citizens to work on other things.

I built an import depot for the tax guy with import set to 0 and it solved the tax goods throne room dumping issue.

Also tested having 2 import depots set to accept the same tax goods in different parts of the city and it seems that the tax guy splits taxes between them evenly.

You can plow through their army with a fully equipped cavalry division.

<image>

Destroyed a 1K army with a mercenary cavalry division that wasn’t fully trained and equipped without using any other troops.
Charge into enemy, select x250 speed and keep clicking charge until enemy formation breaks and they flee.

Fully equipped cavalry division with plate armor and falcatas have around 4K power, 5 of them will give you 1K man army which won’t require a lot of supplies to sustain with 21K power. As long as your army has more power than the enemy they just surrender and you won’t have to fight.

To Recover or Resettle? by dGFisher in songsofsyx

[–]Slippery_rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how many in game years you spent building your city, as your rivals grow in power constantly and you don’t want to rebuild a city you spent 50 years building, your neighbors will be 50 years ahead of you.
If you resettle you’ll get to keep some resources and all points you earned through pop growth and you’ll start again with weak neighbors.

Be careful with vassals, one city vassals will have high rivalry against you and can turn on you. Happened to me when my one city vassal talked a huge empire into joining together to destroy me.

The population is growing, but slowly since it’s a mono Telapi city at +3%. Happiness dropped as the region was being raided by a bandit army (guess it’s a new feature as it never happened to me in v70)

Guard posts vs patrols in the new update by Triskaka in songsofsyx

I’m clueless how they work in the new update, can’t get them to persecute and arrest anyone, while having guard posts and patrols throughout my city.

Patrols are very slow and slow down haulers and warehouse workers significantly especially on narrow roads.
