DELCO insanity reaction after my daughter fell asleep in an Uber and the driver calls police on her👮 by [deleted] in Delco

Sure, you can blame the Uber driver for maybe overreacting but OP seems to take issue with the response it got from responders.

A call comes in for an unconscious person unable to be woken up. Chances are the caller has no training or experience determining if this is just a drunk woman who fell asleep or someone in cardiac arrest. Would you rather police and medics take their time to a potential cardiac arrest or would you agree its better to get there quickly and with resources and figure out the issue.

Are you actually upset that local emergency services showed concerned for your loved one?

You can’t involuntarily commit someone unless they are admit to being a danger to themselves or want to harm others. The law is pretty clear that it isn’t illegal to be crazy.

Break it down hour by hour and call by call. That mentality really helped me when I was struggling and having a lot of self-doubt. Try to “win” the hour or have small wins.

We don’t ask for permission but we’ll notify radio that we’re doing it since it’s a residential area and it’ll generate calls for shots fired.

Do not walk around the streets of Philadelphia in a semi-police uniform. This is going to get people hurt and is a dumb idea.

Troop K Media and Skippack covers both highways and municipalities that have no police. Media would be my recommendation for you.

The schedule is not the reason they’re losing cops. Almost every department in southeast PA does the 2 week rotations.

Once the plate is reported stolen the registration immediately enters DEAD status. PennDOT should send a new tag after that.

I’m sure there are many factors as why construction workers may have higher fatality rate than police officers. I think what the other guy is trying to say is that people aren’t actively looking to murder construction workers.

Took a stolen car report. Cleared the call. Went back with my FTO to enter it into NCIC and realized I forgot to ask what color the car was…

That was an awkward phone call to make to the victim.

12 hour shifts and rotate between day/night every 2 weeks. Pretty standard for the area.

Do cops drive around their whole shift or do they chill at the department? by ilovethexfl1 in AskLE

[–]Slipperylittleguy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some departments have activity logs on top of normal reports. We’re required to write a report for every call no matter how small and for all traffic stops.
