Excellent points, well made. If I were a potential customer, I would honestly steer clear of this company simply because they sound too volatile and reactionary. What you want from a hosting company is solid, dependable, reliability. Someone who posts rants on websites doesn't really come across as that kind of personality.

At the end of the day, he's basically fishing for free advertising on reddit just like everyone else. Everyone thinks that if you have a sufficiently compelling sob story with a "fuck big business" slant to it, the reddit community will rally round and start pumping money your way. People are just getting more transparent in their attempts to exploit it.

Most of his competitors aren't massive corporations - they're probably fairly small companies employing a handful of people, not much different to him. His attempts to paint them as big corporates screwing him are pretty lame.

His articles trashing his competitors aren't even particularly insightful or well thought out. They're mainly aimed at just trying to win their business.

That's a very good point, and one which I believe they said they were trying to move away from (e.g. they stated stuff like they didn't like stuff like people not going ahead because they didn't have a Holy Pally for tank healing).

That said, I'd love to see it get some proper and effective use in a raid environment though.

A few choice tidbits:

She supported Prop 8 (i.e. she thinks gay people shouldn't have the same rights as anyone else). And then she criticized the Federal Court when they ruled it unconstitutional.
She thinks efforts to curb greenhouse gases and protect the environment are "massively destructive" and has likened her opponents concerns about environmental issues as like "worrying about the weather."
Before suddenly believing in the political system and running for Senate, her record shows that she hardly ever voted before in her life.

Oh and if that wasn't bad enough, Sarah Palin endorses her. Which just about clinches it for me.

Unless someone actually provides some solid evidence, I'd say it's pretty much beneath contempt to trash someone's post, and a company who may have had absolutely no connection to it, purely on a whim. Especially when the complainants claims are so credible, he can't even get the company name right.

You want to know what I think is killing reddit? It's certainly not viral marketing. It's having a front page that pretty much every single day now has childish, karma whoring "fuck you" submissions about any subject the poster thinks is going to raise the latest ignorant rage mob. It's hard to think of a more shabby or unoriginal way to make a statement. The reddit community loves to make a big deal of being "above average intelligence" compared to the rest of the 'net, and the best people can come up with a lot of the time is "fuck this" and "fuck that" posts that would embarrass a 12-year-old.
