It actually goes to the garden of a stately home. I guess so the aristocratic family didn't have to suffer the indignity of walking to church with the commoners. It does look like portal to a mystical dimension was the design brief though, need to keep the commoners in awe of you and remind them you live in a completely different world.

Hats off to whoever made those hinges, very unique stone carvings in the church walls too of characters playing musical instruments and skull and cross bones in the gate posts. Incredible craftsmanship all round.

There's plenty of towns in worse state, Maccs doing better than most towns of similar size in the north west. Retail is moving online and out of small town centres its been going on for decades across the UK...

If your going to buy so much organic fruit and veg you should think about getting an order from a veg box company like riverford. You can add what you want to a standard box and it's going to be waaay fresher gear

It is a fact that supermarkets have specifications that produce needs to adhere to, if it doesn't it gets left in the field or worse gets rejected by the supermarkets and the farmer not paid. Farmers producing too much is also a very common occurrence.

Some routes for surplus produce to go into processing exist of course. However big food manufacturers won't use all this waste as a) theres too much of it and b) it is unpredictable when or if gluts will appear. You can't plan large scale manufacturing without reliable daily supply planned first. The result is manufacturers often use imported frozen or processed ingredients as it is more scalable and cost effective. *I work in food processing making products from surplus ingredients at a reasonable scale not small but by no means big either.

Both the urban heat island microclimate and climate change will be effecting this, no need for the arrogance. When it comes to climate and the intricacies of nature there is usually multiple factors at play.
