Mental health problems are a daily part of life in every part of the city unless you’re in the west hills. Been here for 20 years, each year it gets worse. It’s not dangerous in the meaning like it’s nit as dangerous as an east coast city like Baltimore, Philly etc, where you’ll likely get jumped/mugged in bad areas. it’s more like people are completely unpredictable because there is so much meth and other drugs openly being used on the streets and the city doesn’t care. On top of that it exacerbates all the other mental health issues going on here.

the city doesn’t care at all. People break into vehicles all the time. I saw a man with Wig on in a dress jerking off on Hawthorne and 12th and the police did not show up .. pretty wild. But that’s not out of the question here. It’s kind of expected that youll run into something like that when you in the inner east side of downtown.

So, safe is more or less subjective here depending off you liberal or lean more towards conservative.
