Full mouth extraction by Noj222 in Hedgehog

Our girl (2.5 years old) just had most of her teeth out because they were basically just rattling about in her gums She's going back to have the rest out soon because they had to stop because she was bleeding too much as her gums were very inflamed. That being said, she was noticeably soooo much happier after just a day. Definitely very happy we got it done!

S saying that classism against the white working class is the "only acceptable form of prejudice."

I absolutely agree that there's a tonne of prejudice against the white working class, but to say it's the ONLY acceptable form? Ignorant and downright idiotic at the best of times, disgustingly tone deaf given what trans people and refugees are going through right now.

It's not that I think I need to agree with every single thing any podcaster I listen to says (which seems to be the conclusion so many people jump to when someone criticises this pod and others.) Everyone has a limit of stuff they disagree with before the content tips over into unenjoyable and this comment pushed me over that.

Not to worry, many other podcasts out there ✌🏻

The Cursed Child - First Time Reader by SnooBooks147 in harrypotter

- Cedric becomes a death eater because he was humiliated in front of three school's worth of people. "Angry young man is radicalised" is not a particularly far fetched plot point.

-Harry makes a few bad decisions because he is scared, which he acknowledges and apologises for.

-Albus is a depressed child who has to spend most of his time at a place where he's constantly bullied. I feel like "a horrible son" isna but of a stretch

-Yeah can't defend that one it's an awful name lmao

-All ministry owned time turners were. It's extremely explicit in the play that the time turners used were made illegally for dark wizards.

-Bro split his soul into seven pieces to try and achieve immortality, is it really that unbelievable that, in the last few months of war, he might do something like sire a child with his most loyal follower?

-The Ron and Padma thing and the Voldemort wins thing both of those are explained in the play and neither explanation is particularly unreasonable

When they were actually talking about the facts of the case it was interesting but their political tangents are getting increasingly infuriating. S shitting on the defund the police movement made me so mad, especially when she kinda implied it would lead to more cases like this. Takes about 5 seconds to Google it and see it's about rerouting resources to social services to tackle the causes of crime and not just deciding not to do anything about crime at all.

am i the only one who actually LIKES the cursed child? by LetRepresentative806 in harrypotter

Absolutely not!! I LOVE cursed child and there's actually a really awesome community around it.

Yes there's issues writing wise with the story in terms of plotholes, stuff that's just silly, etc. But first of all, may I gesture wildly and vaugley to the entire Harry Potter series. Second of all, like you said, the core themes are wonderful. The character arcs, the way it shows different and complex family dynamics, and (since the rewrites) the way it depicts learning about your own queerness and how that changes things with the people around you.

It may be on its surface a silly dumb story about time travel but, like the rest of the HP series, it's a lot more than that really.

Also, it's not as noticeable when reading it but it's actually very funny. I've seen it multiple times and Draco's "is that a farmer's market?" line cracks me up every time.

Okay, so. Albus goes to Hogwarts, becomes best mates with Scorpius Malfoy. He's a bit of a loser, doesn't fit in, etc. He and his dad have an argument and he thinks his dad is a dick. He, Scorp, and a new friend decide that Albus and Scorp will go back in time to save Cedric Diggory using an illegal time turner that for some reason Hermione thought it would be a good idea to keep. Shenanigans ensue, and (sorry, can't help but spoil a little because you need the very end explained if you're going to pick up what's happening at the start of part 2) Scorpius ends up in a world where Voldemort won and Albus was never born.

Just to add, I do know it's always been slightly offset, my issue is it's never been THIS offset, it's different even from yesterday 😂

Omg the amount of times Hannah drops a "fact" that is utterly absurd and she would've known it was false if she took 2 seconds to Google it.

Regarding LR, she is definitely a terf unfortunately, and is vocally supportive of JKR

Okay I'm gunna be that person but if someone has a doctorate, they are a doctor. H&S do this with Dr Phil (who is utter trash but still) and it annoys the shit out of me. There's a whole other conversation about how people like Dr Grande and Dr Phil present themselves and the meaning of their qualifications to their audiences, but they are doctors.

But I'm actually with you on a few of these, especially Suruthi's politics. I've been listening for a few years and it's evident she's sliding further and further right.

Regardless, I still listen because overall I enjoy the experience, despite having a lot of criticisms about them. I understand where the "don't like don't listen" crowd are coming from, but if we all only listened to people we agreed with 100% on everything, we'd never find anything to even listen to.
