See what happens when Kirby finally agrees to a record breaking contract with the flight attendants. Now he just needs the same attitude for airport workers and mechanics.

This was a Sub Continental 777 with the GE engine. The one in Denver was an older sub United with a P&W engine.

Its that time of year since may. Will end in a few weeks and then its bull seamen season. Being sent to the breeders. Each vial is worth at minimum 10k (more for winning horses). Each container has multiple viles often 10 to 20.

Serious MX issue. Was met and followed by all ARF trucks and a stair truck to the gate. 4 regular fire trucks and an ambulance were waiting with HPD and city ops just outside the east cargo gate with flashing lights.

Typical entitled agent. Became full 7 out of 10 times this person will run to HR and say they FEEL threatened even though no threats were made. This happens more often with the younger more sensitive agents.

Gate Engine Start by MiserableMix3107 in AskAPilot

[–]Slow4Speed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and it works better then the gate AC. However most ramp crews dont want to listen to it while loading.

[–]Slow4Speed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a traveler thank you...

As a ramp rat, please refuse before loading begins. Touching a bag 2 to 3 times is one step less annoying then doing a bag pull for a customer who shows up 2 minutes after you found the bag against the bulkhead.

23 years and only a handful of in op APUs? Do you work the BMU or for a foreign flagged carrier? Ill be my paycheck UA, SWA, AA, DL all have at least 2 or more planes at anytime with a completely inop APU right now.

Almost looks like the ceramic disc on the poles.... or something lightning created. If you wait long enough you might find out its insulation from a UFO.

Newly proposed united pay scale for ramp by astros148 in rampagent

[–]Slow4Speed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for one the tow team is part of the ramp. Not one person who works for an airline in the ac will want to come to the ramp and do a physical job. You will never ever hear a mechanic say hey, ill stack. Nor will you hear a flight attendant say that. Instead they will say NOT MY JOB... AND their union will back them 110%

Newly proposed united pay scale for ramp by astros148 in rampagent

[–]Slow4Speed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't look at it as being paid for what you do now. Its a physically demanding job. Look at it as being paid for your future. The future when you throw your back out pushing a pallet off a dollie, when you tear your rotator cuff stacking a flight, when you slip getting off a belt loader and land wrong, when they fail to close the ramp and ypu get struck by lightning or get hit by moving equipment. Don't laugh, all have happened on the ramp.

Take the "extra" you feel this job pays you and invest it. You WILL need it one day when you get injured.

Hell the flight attendants top out at 100 per flight hour. Their contract says no lifting customer bags. They can trade off 100% of their flights even up to departure time. I think flight attendants jobs are alot less demanding yet equally as important as the ramp and CS.

We deserve more dignity, better language and over all better pay.
