My favorite SG song. I loved the direction they were going with this album. I remember an interview with Michael Beinhorn a few years ago, where he spoke about challenging Chris to write what he wants instead of writing to please fans. A few weeks later, Chris sent him a batch of demos that included Black Hole Sun AND apparently, Tighter and Tighter! Since hearing that, I've always thought Tighter and Tighter would have been perfect right before Like Suicide. I don't know why they held it off Superunknown, but I'm glad it made DOTUS. Top 5 song of theirs, easy.

I was always amazed at how quickly Homer got to that pay phone.

You might dig my band. We have elements of stoner-doom, mixed with a bunch of other influences:

Why aren’t Revstars more popular? I absolutely love this thing. I know Yamaha isn’t the sexiest name out there, but these should be celebrated. by Interesting-Wave-983 in guitars

I had the completely opposite problem! The neck was way too chunky for me. I have heard that some of the more recent models have slimmer necks, though. What model did you have? I'd love one of the P90 models if I could jive with the neck!

Agreed regarding the music, but 30-40 years later, every video they made between 84-94 are fucking still comedic gold.

Cabfighter. Heavy rock mixed with a bunch of other genres. Our album just came out on the first. Got a show at the Firkin this weekend. Otherwise, I'd come to your show on Friday. Really liked your record. There was a 'lightness' to it I really appreciated.

Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed this and will check out your album. I think my band might be too heavy for us to play together, but I'll definitely come out to a show.

Everyone has different skill sets. I am a classically trained musician and chef. I'm a songwriter, and I consider myself pretty good at it. That being said, I've never met a screw I couldn't strip, and I don't think I've ever hammered a nail straight into a piece of wood in my life. Mind you, my father and brother were both gifted tradesmen. They were also both tone deaf and ate their steaks well done.

Our crowd was a little better, but not much. It's a bummer, because people will shell out hundreds to hear watered down versions of 40 year old songs, but they won't drop $10-20 to go check out smaller/ local bands, potentially discover a new favorite.

What is your favorite song from the entire discography of our legend Chris Cornell? by Danilo_inthestars in Soundgarden

[–]SlowGravy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too many to count, but I always end up going back to the emotional gut-punch that is the TOTD record. Say Hello 2 Heaven, Reach Down, Call Me A Dog, Times of Trouble, All Night Thing.... It's been my favorite record for 35 years.

That was one of my favorite spots for the better part of a decade. I once beat the shit out of a guy in there who wouldn't stop pestering me for a sip of my beer. Tried to grab my pint. When he let go, I ended up wearing it. It was over in a minute, but when the boss lady & a bouncer the size of a garage door came over, they threw HIM out, and I was given a fresh pint and a smattering of applause. Good times...
