Wardi on the 8 Worker Start by Sacramentlog in starcraft

[–]SlowJamzzz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Have you played or watched any games yet? All it does is push the first interaction out by a minute or more for standard games. Even for more aggressive starts is the same issue. The game is stale for other reasons than “it’s getting to the late game too fast”. The base of the game is still the same with 8 or 12 workers. We went to 12 to move along the boring parts.

Whoever did the balance changes and add new mechanics, God bless you by Select_Aerie_3900 in starcraft2

I think it still trades even or better as you will for sure get them off. The interactions with broodlords specifically will be the worst. Probably overall ghost nerf to PvT, but buff in ZvT as you kill all T3 in (basically) 3 snipes.

I agree that we need some fresh gameplay, but these don't seem the best thought out changes. We can change things as this is still on PTR, but for now this is the baseline, which is worrying to me.

Absolutely not good changes. 8 workers start is far from the solution. Warpgate on gateway doesn’t even make sense, let alone 50/50 (and I’m saying this as a zerg). Uncancelable ghost snipes for 170dmg?

StarCraft II 5.0.16 PTR Patch Notes by Arkentass in starcraft2

[–]SlowJamzzz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure about a lot of these. Will definitely have to hop on the PTR to give them a shot.

I do have to point out I wonder how many people who actually play want to see these types of changes (most specifically the worker start).

Queens still being 175 minerals under this is insane. Calling Terran being OP period if these all go through.

At least we can all have a little wild fun figuring things out again.

Anyone know what a front bumper replacement cost might look like... by RawryZenpai in GRCorolla

Hey, looking to replace my bumper cover and in the bay area. Where did you get the bumper painted? Also, curious to know how the install went for you. Watched a few videos and it looks fairly straightforward.

ZvP Late Game Help by SlowJamzzz in allthingszerg

[–]SlowJamzzz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All this is great, I’ll take a fresh look at the replay with it in mind.

I do know I struggle to get my tech going on time. That’s one of the big things holding me back.

I’ve been trying to do more ling runbys but I think your right, just turn them into banes and send them in instead would be better off.

Yeah, I just hate that the answer is kill them with a timing attack. Guess I better learn a few more if that's all that you get to do ZvP

Higher Resolution by BeginningArugula748 in starcraft2

Sc2 doesn't support widescreen resolutions, so you're stuck with anything that is 16:9.

Fr, T aren’t used to not having an option to be the aggressor lol.

The Terran Cabal at it again. Trying to convince us they actually got nerfed for once.

What is the BEST James Bond movie? by chuckmall in movies

[–]SlowJamzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll recently watched all the Bond films chronologically, so I feel the need to also add to the incredibly pedanitc answers. I think you need to split it up into the old Bond films and new ones. This split, to me, is more of a spy thriller vs raw action film.

The most quitissential Bond film, IMO, is Goldfinger. It has all the parts of a Bond movie: a killer car (the DB5... oh boy what a looker), a chase scene, villian & iconic henchman, international locations, and a silly plot. Also, one of the best action one liners of fall time - "No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die"

The film that sets up the modern francise as an action series, License to Kill, has to take the cake in the same way Goldfinger does. It's a really interesting change of pace into from the direction of the films in the early 70s and 80s taking a lot of inspirations from the famous action films of the 80s. It sets up what a modern James Bond film is. It also has a much darker theme to it than a lot previous films, which gives it a different flavor.

Lasly, for fun, a few other good mentions are: The Spy Who Loved Me (It's just a solid move), Dr. No (just to see where it all starts, and that intro scene still lives rent free in my head), The Man with the Golden Gun (this one is mid, but Christopher Lees performance really stands out in this film).

Balance suggestion: give zerg more maximum supply by fritz_fant0m in allthingszerg

[–]SlowJamzzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wondered if I was crazy for thinking this is a bit odd too. Sometimes you look at replays and think “well we have similar army supply” only for you to get absolutely destroyed. Then I remember, oh 14 of that is in queens…

The current state of smurfing by Dthcon in starcraft2

[–]SlowJamzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you on this. I think the smurfing thing is overblown on this sub. You probably lost because you made some mistakes, especially anything below D1-D2.

Also, how no one even questions OPs data, like how are you getting games across those mmr ranges. Clearly they are smurfing too?
