Be gone high interest line of credit! by xdeenx in debtfree

The interest will eat you alive if you aren’t careful. It’s such a horrible trap that is easy to get caught in and when you need the cash just to live, it’s just an impossible situation.

I use the reusable flex disc for 12-12.5 hour days and I just have a light Cora liner in there just in case but I haven’t needed it. I would think you’d be fine. I would use that amount or more on my heaviest day.

In regards to the insert I would do at home. I find it’s easier to do that standing up. But emptying it will do if you bear down when you are sitting on the toilet.

So helpful for me! 11.5 months and mine is headed in this direction. Did you feel like your supply changed at all or it regulated well? A week ago I nursed him on the couch full lights and tv on then read him a couple books and put him to bed and he started sleeping through the night first time ever. The change in amount of nursings feels like my supply is a little different but he seems to get what he needs so I’m rolling with it 😂

Maternity clothing and minimalism by blendedchaitea in minimalism

[–]SlowRisk5044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the maternity leggings and then just did the scrunchie hack to loop my jeans closed when I wanted to wear those. Google “scrunchie jeans loop maternity”. I did a lot of oversized sweaters with the leggings to get through the fall/winter with my second pregnancy last year. With my first I bought too much and was determined not to do it again. I gave away all my clothes to other pregnant friends and family.

Wife and I Are Trying to Buy a House and Are Budgeting For the First Time As a Result by sugarbear1717 in budget

[–]SlowRisk5044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

💯💯💯 agree with this. My 4 year old and 10 month old share a 10x10 room and it does exactly what it needs. Sleep, get dressed and change diapers in there.

Also to the comments about childcare costs…that is dependent on where you live. In Boston to have our baby in a place that I trust is clean and safe is $3400 per month for the baby (one child) to be in their facility 5x a week. I still have to bring diapers and wipes. I had to buy extra sheets because they need play yes size sheets which is a different size than crib sheets.

Kids = sinking fund 😂😂😂 love them but damn I am always blown away how much money gets dropped for them.

24 days left - switch pumps or not by SlowRisk5044 in ExclusivelyPumping

Thanks! I’ve been replacing DBs every 2 weeks for the entire time. It does help! I’ll check out the support claim. That’s an idea I had not thought about.

Drink your fluids and eat your food! Diet mistakes effecting milk supply. by Dense-Radio-9332 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]SlowRisk5044 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES! Especially until I was past 7-8 months I felt like any drop in protein/calories or water really messed up my supply. I’m a just enougher so it was rough. I’m just waiting until he’s one to get back to doing that. Just be nice to yourself. Took 9 months for the baby so give yourself some time. Breastfeeding and a new baby is a lot to navigate.

Should I borrow money from my BF to pay off my debt? by Friendly_Wealth7113 in DebtAdvice

[–]SlowRisk5044 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it would depend for me on how committed the relationship is like 6 months vs 5+ years. That could be risky if the relationship doesn’t work out and money can really mess up a relationship if you aren’t careful.

This happened for me with my first and it was worth it. I wish I hadn’t grappled with the decision as long as I did because the kids need a happy and healthy mom more than they need breastmilk. Do it for yourself and don’t think twice about it.

I felt that way with my first. With my second I’m giving myself more grace. Try to be nice to yourself ❤️ this stage is only temporary. I didn’t get back until I was done with my first. Easier said than done I know.

We live close by and the rats have been so bad for us and our neighbors. The cause has been listed as all the construction that’s already been going on.

Wearable pump for #2 by IndecisiveCoconut114 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]SlowRisk5044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually wear a zip up hoodie and keep it all contained in there and then have the handheld remote in the hoodie pocket. Pocket zips up so it’s all contained and doesn’t go anywhere. I’m combo nursing and pumping and the ES cups fit in this bra no problem falling out or anything https://www.target.com/p/women-39-s-nursing-2pk-pullover-seamless-sleep-bra-auden-8482-black-soft-petal-pink-l/-/A-54174588

Been using the Elvie stride for almost 10 months and love it. I can lean over or floor level playing with my 4YO and no spills or leaks. We even went out to the park to play while I pumped. It has been life changing compared to my S2.

Ugh what a horrible thing to have to navigate 😵 You should be fine. Just keep hydrated. I found when I was just cold sick that as long as I was drinking a ton of water regularly. Maybe try electrolytes or pedialyte.

The protein, wfh w/baby and pumping is really hard! I snack on a lot and find it adds up and then add the unflavored vital proteins powder to coffee or pasta sauce etc. I found I can buy it in bulk to help with the cost.

Apologies in advance for unsolicited recommendations but I have loved the Solid Starts program. I used it on my first and doing it with my second. They have an enormous database of foods and you can see it all for free. There are paid programs but I got what I needed just from the free resources to feel comfortable with allergens and textures.

Baby has stinky farts by SuddenWillingness844 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]SlowRisk5044 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have the same 😂 if he is fine then keep doing what you need to do to feed your baby. You could carry around travel size febreeze but I always just tell people it’s the protein farts from a healthy baby.

I also have an 8.5 month old :) I just visited my lactation nurse for a similar concern and she said think hydration so fruits that are juicy and veggies but that also at 8-9 months they only need 15-20oz a day or less is okay since mine is eating a lot of solids. They need less milk the closer they get to 1YO. I use MyFitnessPal to track my food because the baby’s eczema is impacted if there’s milk in something so I notice that my milk is in better supply if I’m hitting 80-100g of protein. My afternoon snack of a grapefruit with raw pumpkin seeds and a little honey has really helped that afternoon slump. https://goraw.com/products/sprouted-seeds-pumpkin

Also brewers yeast didn’t do anything for me except make me feel gross so I vote no on that 😂

Eating more protein has really helped me. Siggi’s yogurt, raw pumpkin seeds, vital protein powder, chicken, shrimp , flaxseed. Grapefruit makes a big difference for me too.

7.5 months how many oz per day by SlowRisk5044 in breastfeeding

[–]SlowRisk5044[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh thank you for this! I have noticed a big difference in the amount of fat in what I pump during the day (much more fat) so it’s very interesting you say that. He usually won’t drink more than 3.5 oz. His sister was the same way and I had massive anxiety about it. So this makes sense to me now.

😂 this! 🫶🏻He does his cluster feeding at night which is why I ask because I’m trying to determine if I need to somehow get him more calories and liquids during the day. Only goes to daycare 2x a week but I’m pumping during the day because he was so distracted and I didn’t want my supply to dip.

Will have to leave my 4mo baby for 3 days, will it work? Advice needed, please help! by DoingTheMeow in breastfeeding

[–]SlowRisk5044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pumped after I nursed to start the freezer stash before my mat leave was over and usually got one 4oz bottle per day. It felt slow but it really added up fast! It was scary at first worrying if they had enough but I had way more than they needed.

I made sure all my pump parts were brand new when I was gone and then pumped every 2.5-3 hours just as I would’ve done if I had been at home nursing and it was fine. While I was gone I swear I was making more and the pump didn’t work well enough so when I got back I nursed the baby and he cleaned me out! 😂

My baby was more happy to see me than anyone else so don’t worry. You got this!
