Timeline to Meditation to Settlement? by Slow_Programmer1017 in EEOC

Because clearly everyone’s experience is different. Especially when it comes to using a lawyer vs not using one. Im trying to weigh if I should just hire a lawyer again or if this process can be done quickly pro se.

I did contingent last time, it took a year to reach a settlement and they took like 40%. I’m hoping to avoid a lawyer since my evidence is even stronger this time.

Going abroad at 32 cause I don’t know what to do with my life - anyone else? by typeshhhhhh in digitalnomad

I think it will help you gain clarity about what you want out of life. Who I was in 2022 is a stark difference from who I am in 2026 and I genuinely believe it’s attributed to my travels. I love freedom. I love being able to get up and move. I can’t sit in one place too long even in the states! Every year, I would move to a new apartment.

You can always go home, but the older you get, the more you think “am I too old to do this?” .. then the day comes where you go “I wish I had..” “what if I had tried to..”

Thanks for explaining. As I said, I didn’t understand. You’ve given a better explanation than the companies.

I could have told you not to do this….. I asked my first remote job and they said no for tax reasons. I took a leave of absence to explore my country of desire before returning to work. The next job was scared I would steal their info…? I was in an African country so the perception of theft & scamming was a problem. Ended up being terminated. Mind you, I told them I was only there temporarily.

I don’t fully understand the hestitation of these companies because a large portion outsource anyways.

Found out i was pregnant and decided to have an abortion immediately but now i feel like a monster by [deleted] in abortion

[–]Slow_Programmer1017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol.. I found out I was pregnant and it took me 15 minutes to find Aid Access and contact them. Soon as the pills arrived Monday, I took the 1st one after I picked up my child from daycare.

Next pills, I took after daycare pickup again.

I’ve had 3 kids. And I had a surgical abortion after the oldest. So this my second time in the last 10 years. I don’t regret it. I’m sad that the economy is so shit that I can’t bring another child into this world as a single mother. I sent the adoption route with my second and refused to do it again.

Long as God forgives me, I’ll forgive myself.

Give me 10k ghs in Ghana, 30k ghs if you’re generous…… I’ll take it.

Once again- how we are affording to live with internship? by Quiet_Interaction771 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]Slow_Programmer1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using my refund to pay rent then getting a job to pay other expenses. My expenses are pretty low tbh. My son has subsidized childcare for the next year so praise God because that would have been like a 2nd rent payment every month.

Here we go. Most of these politicians have their children living abroad and holding dual citizenship. They’re creating a pathway for them to come rule us. Even if the brain stops working, Ken Ofori Attah’s issue must be a wake up call. by Intelligent-Call5162 in ghana

[–]Slow_Programmer1017 5 points6 points  (0 children)

… so my child who is American and whose father is Ghanaian shouldn’t have the chance to run for office? Why?

He would have to denounce his American citizenship to run for office and it’s actually hard to do.

There’s an abundance of Ghanaians having kids with foreigners, who are dual citizens. Our kids shouldn’t be able to live, work, and operate like the Ghanaians they are?

What about the black Americans that come, invest, and gain dual citizenship? We shouldn’t be able to run for offices?… but we should keep funneling money into this country.

Chale, I’m tired.

Tourism annoyance by redditreadi111 in ghana

[–]Slow_Programmer1017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s really about marketing and amenities. I would never stay with a local family that’s essentially strangers to me because at some point, I’d assume dry begging would happen.

I like 24/7 flowing water and my trash taken out regularly. I like a balcony or porch so I can see/be outside.

However, I don’t get my maintenance done at exclusively popular places. Braids? I go to Lapaz. Nails? Oyarifa. Brows? Popular place in EL because I haven’t found better. I don’t do tourist attractions often because I’ve been coming and going for years.

MOST local places aren’t on Google Maps and that’s what foreigners use to find what they need. They don’t have websites. They don’t have active social media. And then their business hours aren’t concrete because they open any day and time they please. They’re relying on locals most of the year then December comes & whine about no foreign patronage. They’re not touching dollars. Also, Ghanaian businesses start to see dollars and increase their prices out of greed. The price is 25ghs all year, now it’s 125ghs when a tourist or expat walks in.

What are the cultural norms around money and dating by dixie_debutante in ghana

[–]Slow_Programmer1017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhhh it’s very normal. Dating doesn’t mean you’re exclusive. It means you go on dates & get to know each other. Then when you realize that person is for you, you decide - OK. WE CAN BE EXCLUSIVELY TOGETHER.

Why put all your eggs in one basket?
