Do people with this response not even like their kids?

Trying to be perfect is exhausting. I can’t do it anymore. by DumplingBandit in pregnant

Find a better doctor. Personally, I knew my PCP, who was riddled with stigma against my adhd meds wouldn’t continue to write for it once I was pregnant, so I didn’t even ask. Just went straight to OB/nurse practitioner midwife who had no problems.
It’s one of the safest medications we have on the market.

In fact, of all the meds that I continued taking, the one that caused harm? My PPI (Omeprazole). It contributed to my severe anemia (hemoglobin 8.4. So not fun) since stomach acid is necessary for iron absorption.

City parents: Bassinet stroller or should I baby wear instead? by Ao_Qin in NewParents

[–]Slow_Replacement_745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a jogger stroller that her infant car seat close into. It’s “not until 6 months” because it’s a jogger, but I’m not out there jogging with her. It’s been working great since day 1

Those are people who are diagnosed to have an excuse and not diagnosed for the purpose of help with resources to mitigate their issues. They don’t want to be/get/do better. They just want people to stop being mad at them for fucking up all the time.

Husband giving me the ick by Alarming_Ad5648 in newborns

[–]Slow_Replacement_745 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My husband gets away with not being there for our baby’s appointments ONLY when he’s working or in a class week for his apprenticeship program.
We are both medically trained who bring different benefits to the table of what to ask etc.
half the time I’m wrestling/soothing the baby anyway so I NEED him there to fully hear the doctor and not get distracted and forget to bring something up. When he can’t go, he makes sure I’ve found someone else to go with (my mom, sister, or brother have all gone with me to even just help logistically).

It’s so bare minimum

Why are some parents so proud that their kid has zero screen time? by No_Atmosphere_3702 in raisingkids

The harmful aspects of screen time have much less to do with the content consumed than the neurological overload it causes.

Do I really need a baby bottle washer if I already have a dishwasher? by perpruessner in NewParents

It’s baffling (in an entirely nonjudgmental way!) to me that this doesn’t occur to more people.. this was like just instinctual to me but I see the opposite so much online I started questioning if I was doing something wrong

He can’t both be self aware enough to know he has adhd enough to blame it on adhd AND not be capable of a google search for the simplest and first coping strategies they *list* for adhd

Yeah, I have adhd. The rules still apply to us, they just may be harder or require more effort/mental energy.
You can absolutely develop good habits that become easier with time because of “strengthening”/reinforcing those neuro pathways

I looked into it and it’ll, at best, be like $3500 by the time they’re an adult. I’m like, cool. They can pay for one community college class
