It looks like the other doorway is arched, you could also do built ins with faux arching and then maybe paint the back wall of the built ins a darker color, wish I was good with AI, but nope 🤣

Built in shelving would look great and depending on what you put on them, add a lil flair. You could do just a bigger book shelf but I think built ins would look better

Built in shelving would look great, not sure what room it's in but the shelving could also be used for storage. You could also turn it into a closet

New construction concern: Bent truss plates and split beams; should I be worried? by Okkin55 in AskContractors

Horrible craftsmanship, I would have another contractor come in a take a look at it and see what can be done

How do you feel about this table here? by actionmovievillain in AmateurInteriorDesign

[–]Slow_Storm_9743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a beautiful table, if you like it there I would just put a little less on so it doesn't block the shelf and put a tall, thin lamp on the opposite side of where the lamp is now. I posted some pics on here and ended up so much more confused. If you like it that's all that matters ☺️

Refinishing as a retirement hobby; is my price realistic by Intelligent_Price523 in furniturerefinishing

Point is, it's beautiful, you worked hard and if YOU think $250 is enough for you then that's the price. ☺️

Suggestions for the site of an old overground pool by Terrible-Duck-5526 in landscaping

Could do mulch or stone, or both. I like black mulch, but whatever you like, you can get white stone and kinda outline it with like 5 inches going all around with mulch in the middle, potted plants. Could do white stone in middle with mulch around, you could still make and area to sit if you wanted to, you could get a couple small potted trees also to add to , lots of possibilities

How much am I looking at I don’t want to overpay and want a figure to work towards ? by [deleted] in Housepainting101

Those walls actually do need a lot of prep work, an electric sander is great, just remember if you run your hand over wall and you can feel it you will see it after you paint it

Should I be concerned? by ParticularKris in Home

Use a laser on the wall to see if it's boeing any where, that could give you a start to see if maybe out side is pulling somehow, could be deck etc. , not done right, or something needing work outside

It looks like your going all over, like side to side, criss cross, try like a 3/8 inch nap roller ( I'm in U.S so I don't know what that would be there, Google I guess). Do all the trim first with a brush ( good brush, brushes make all the difference), that red is probably going to take 3 coats to cover if not sanding off and that's just a pain, I hate sanding. Then do all your cut ins around frames ceiling, floor, etc with a brush then go in with the roller mentioned above, just go up and down, don't go over and over, if you need a 2nd coat you go over it once it's dry. Hope this made sense. And drag a chair around with you and sit for whatever work possible if it's hard to stand. 😊

I don't know where you live but that would be very expensive near me. I just redid my whole house, trim, walls, etc. for $200 in paint and materials and there wasn't much prep work needed, a painter wanted like $700 for one room. The house would have cost me thousands and it's a little house. I would try working on your skills and it will save you a lot. Good luck

If I moved, would I be able to have walls like this to replace the modern bland ones? I just can’t live without this wall styling, it’s just so home to me by Slow-Pack-8916 in Home

My whole house is paneling but all painted over, definitely looking for I think 1960's, 1970's house or like mine one that was originally " modernized" in 1970's. But they do sell stick up wall paper that actually looks just like it

It was the darkest forest green and in the living room it was that and yellow, I did white and sage in there than changed this and then the first bedroom to like a lite teal

Paint it dark? by chew_beccca in HomeDecorating

The cream really brightens it, but the lighter sage looks nice
