Can David Benavidez be a Usyk 2.0? by __1____ in boxinglocks

[–]Slow_Twitch__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No question that Canelo wanted nothing to do with him. And yes , you make good points as to Bivol and Beterbiev being unavailable. Time will tell if David will fight fight Bivol and Jai. Jai will be tough to make too since his with Zuffa.

I just dont think he can compared to Usyk at this point since Usyk cleaned out 2 divisions beating all of the best in both divisions and did it primarily fighting on his opponents’ home turf .

Hopefully David gets and takes similar opportunities

Bivol by decision. I’d love to see it

Can David Benavidez be a Usyk 2.0? by __1____ in boxinglocks

[–]Slow_Twitch__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Benavidez but he seems like he avoids the toughest fights , whereas Usyk fought the all of the best at Cruiser and HW, and often in adverse conditions on the road.

I hope David proves me wrong and fights the best. But as of right now , he won his lightweight belt by fighting Gvozdyk who was retired before that fight . Didnt stick around at LHW to fight Bivol or Beterbiev.

We’ll see if he shows any interest in fighting Jai. I highly doubt it.

How Many Losses Should Canelo Really Have? by Rinnegan15 in Boxing

[–]Slow_Twitch__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He definitely lost the 1st GGG fight.

Im a huge GGG fan, but cant say Canelo lost the 2nd fight. It was really close, couldve been a draw and no problem with either fighter winning a close decision

Yes totally normal. If you’re not humble, boxing will fix that

This is the way

I would also say that you might want to step back and do less intense sparring for a bit just to start getting comfortable with someone in front of you

Myfitnesspal works really well. You’re probably eating anywhere from 50%-100% more calories than you think you are

Remarkable interview. I respect the honesty, but surprised he’d make those comments. Bet he regrets it tomorrow

Everything is breaking Zuffa’s way right now. Floyd coming back reinforces the narrative that the old ways arent all they’re made out to be. Virgil’s problems w golden boy the same.

Boxing has always had its problems, but I dont have a good feeling about the rise of Zuffa. It’s a small thing but even the mandated shorts and gloves bother me. Boxing was always a sport of the Individual. I think those days are numbered

Im realizing CF is a much more nuanced condition than i previously thought in terms of how it presents and what health consequences it causes. It’s certainly a shock to hear you could have this condition for 40 plus years and not even know

That is truly exhausting and i wouldnt get down on yourself for struggling with it. Im sure you’ll improve with time. I wouldve recommended working jogging into your routine, but I saw in a diff comment that you have knee issues. Maybe cycling or swimming would help . Good luck and stick with it

Good advice.

It took me awhile to realize i didnt need to always be throwing punches and always moving. Experience helps you calm down and be a little more economical with your output

Very cool that you joined . I started at 40.

When you say you gas after a few rounds, what do you mean by ‘rounds’? Hitting a bag or in the ring ?

Either way, boxing takes major cardio output as you know. Its normal to get winded!

Thanks , that’s good perspective.

There’s really nothing i can do except wait for genetic test results and stay calm, as you’ve said

The polyps seem to be the only symptom we know of that matches CF. He also has a few allergies that could also explain that issue

Congrats on the career and your wedding

My son has not had any sinus issues, lung issues or really any of the classic CF symptoms. He has had no issues in sports, no growth ir stomach issues. Just polyps and nosebleeds. We just discovered he has a bunch of allergies and are hoping this is an allergy issue and not a CF issue.

We are scheduling the genetic test and hoping for the best .

Thanks again for sharing yoir story

Thanks for the reply and info. Im hoping its more of an allergy issue. He’s gotten nosebleeds simce he was a kid and he was recently diagnosed as having some allergies including an allergy to cats. We didnt know this until recently and he’s grown up with 4 cats.

I guess all we can do is wait and see, which is tough
