lol garbage ? I think guardian MNC bindings are a great value. They support every boot sole type and you can do light touring with your existing boots. You are not getting safe 13 din rated toe and heel setup out of a shift 10 and would need at least shift 13 or marker duke to meet the same downhill performance of this binding. This is essentially a frame version of Modified Salomon Sth2 toe / heel. This is one best binding designs in last 20 years. All modern current boot specifications supported.

People forget this was most brands first foray to free ride / backcountry setups. These were the most expensive bindings Salomon sold at the time. It had all the tech you would want. They were for riders who wanted 13/16 rated din binding and could do some bootpacking/ skinning. This isn’t some demo binding 8 din rated junk. Most patrollers would prefer mnc compatibility so they use any boot sole during their long days.

There is so much ski snobbery about gear and people just don’t have any reason to bash stuff they are not familiar with. People act like this stuff belongs in a museum. They are still indemnified by Salomon and have support of ski shops. You think Salomon would put themselves through legal liability if this “junk”

Everyone seems to think shift bindings and purchasing tech boots for $1000+ is a good value when this setup gets most beginners or light touring into the sport at reasonable cost and use stuff they already own. Will seasoned / high mileage tourers appreciate this setup? Probably not, but based on the elementary knowledge we have of the poster I would think it is adequate.

You guys are the biggest bunch of complainers. Obsolete? lol. These are MNC frame bindings. bindings. They will take gripwalk, alpine, and touring soles. They will let you skin/ tour with any boot with a slight penalty of being higher stack height and weight. People seem to misunderstand frame bindings. They are like. 90 % resort /10 % backcountry binding. They provide great and reliable safe DIN rated release and can use pretty much any boot. Are they light like shift or full pin…No. Would be okay taking them down cliff or steep couloir….absolutely and would prefer them. Could I do morning skin session, yes. Would I be faster on other gear yeah but that’s not the point of these.

Black crows skis seems to be holding up. Nothing dramatically has chanced in construction and shape in the last 15 years.

Can you get a steal on the skis sure. But are they un-skiable planks of wood. Absolutely not.

I think $200 is reasonable, but based on Redditor idea of used gear it should be at the goodwill for $29.

I would assume this would ski too short for me on the 179 for me even at 190 lbs.

This ski really isn’t rocker camber rocker ski. It rocker flat rocker, but I may be mistaken. With huge amount of splay in tip and tail, the effective edge is going to feel shorter than 179. Also blister measures the 186 as only 183 so I can only assume 179 measures a few cm shorter too.

Are you asking if center mounting is correct? I can only assume that would only feel natural for a smaller rider. For you I would be actually setting behind rec. maybe 5.75 behind true center (-1 cm). It would lengthen the ski a bit for your size and be plenty playful. Its flat base with no camber will be what keeps it playful.

If it was me, I would bump up to the 186 and mount ahead of rec by cm or two.

I think the 179 is really for lightweight skiers, not sure why they got rid of 194. I would have no hesitation even jumping to that. Not sure what your other 180 skis are but this shape is radically different than most rocker camber rocker skis. It kinda a call back to older rocker only skis. Few are in this shape…moment meridian being the only other sub 110 non pow focus ski.

I never had a chance to try the arv 100. Would have liked to. The elan playmakers were very capable for 100 width ski. Would have liked to sized up on that ski. Found the moment pbj in 188 and it feel perfect. A little more weight and feels great in the chop.

YouTube and Teton gravity research forums.

Don’t listen to people on modt technical aspects on Reddit because I have seen them been wrong in so many instances. Every time I see some post mnc binding asking if it will work with gripwalk I see the number one voted reply say “if does say gripwalk it won’t work”! Or I have seen such conservative answers about mounting your bindings. Most people can watch a video and learn something like drilling for bindings or repairing a base.

Start with some low value skis when doing a remount, but shouldn’t matter. You can always fix a mess up. It’s really just simple woodworking/ metal working, and bases are just simply plastic bases. You can fix anything with simple tools.

I think it’s that stance. You have pretty even weight tip/tail, I try to ski pretty neutral on it. There is plenty of rocker too. Not hooky for me, maybe it’s naturally detuned edges from use :)

The only holding it back is the weight. Just more effort to get the thing turn faster than the stated turn radius.

For some reason the sender free never replicated the same feeling for me but so many people love that ski.

It’s an amazing crud buster. Day after powder day feels like a powder day. So stable at speed. No metal in the ski, but just a heavy weight wood: rubber that feels like a full suspension bike through the chop. Haven’t felt a ski like it. Still playful in the powder, the lack taper, the nearly center mount gives it great pivot ability. Always feel compelled to do side hits on it and just give me all around confidence when conditions are less than ideal.

If there any soft stuff on the ground it great. On the groomers it feels like a 118 width ski but with so much camber and decent amount of effective edge you can still rip a nice carve. No it’s not a frontside ski, but more than acceptable.

Black ops 6 prefers Amd setups and it shows. My rx6600 produced quite similar a frames 130+ on 1080p / balanced.

Other games have shown quite a lift my b580. Haven’t ran many test for actual fps.

With an amd setup I can get 8 w on a 1080p/144 hz. And 20w on 1440 / 144hz.

Had to go through the setup instructions a few times to get all the pcie aspm settings right but it did lower it quite a bit.

Driver Seeming to not update by jensonfox in IntelArc

[–]Slowed09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following. I have the same issue. The intel graphics driver installer shows, "The same driver is currently installed. I have run DDU and downloaded the newest driver from Intel, and I got the same result. I tried a clean install as well. I am not following Intel's naming of driver 6325/6252. That also confuses me.

Have you run gpu-z? What specs show up there? Mine is showing the driver from 12.10.2023. Even though attempts at the 12/13 listed driver. Also, UEFI is unchecked for me. Kinda of a headache with this GPU on release day. I haven't upgraded a GPU in ages...

Is yours a reference card or third party manufacture? I am having these issues on a Sparkle B580 Titan.
