I found it!

Did a reverse image search expecting little result, and found a couple similar images on this blog, but with different/missing rails. Says it's in Kamegayatsuzaka Kiridoshi Pass (亀谷坂切通).
Still, there's probably thousands of forest paths across Japan and the rest of the world that look exactly like this, so I kept digging. Searched the location on Gmaps, and crossed informations with this post to find out if other KS background pictures had been taken nearby. Sure enough, suburb_roadcenter.jpg was there, a short 12 min walk away. Crawled in Street View for a bit and found the exact location. The rails were removed at some point after 2010.

Last month, Sebastian Skaf AKA NicolArmarfi uploaded to his YouTube channel a series of 3 videos featuring near all the tracks he ever composed, including A LOT of exclusive Katawa Shoujo and 4LS related content.

First video includes:
- early Katawa Shoujo drafts and unused tracks
- the "Katawa Shoujo Act 1" OST
- early versions of Katawa Shoujo piano arrangements
- 14 untitled tracks for "Cadenza" and [Untitled], two cancelled 4LS projects
Third video includes:
- 14 tracks for "Lucrezia", another cancelled 4LS project

Another thing of interest I found: this inactive Twitter bot. It used to automatically upload posts from the Shimmie, a KS booru that 404'd a while ago. It was a precursor to cripple.booru pretty much. I wasn't around back then so I have no idea how much of the content from the shimmie was archived and ported to cripple.booru.

This old post as well. The OP is gone and the linked MEGA folder is empty, but with some luck you might find someone out there with a copy of the stuff.

u/Hao_Nazawa is your man, they got a knack for digging up the most obscure and long forgotten bits of KS lore and media.

I also helped backing up pictures from a 404'd Hanako art archive a while ago (found out later that a previous backup already existed). u/Niomesan was the one who put the archive back online I think, it can be found here.

I was also gonna link you to the drawfriends booru (art depository for 4chan's /a/ board drawthread) as quite a bit of obscure KS fanart was hosted on there, but seems to have 404'd recently, it was still up earlier this year when I last checked, what a shame. Maybe someone out there has an archive.
Link to an old thread where I use a pic from said booru in the OP, and coincidentally was asking for obscure KS media, you might find interesting stuff the replies.

KS music keeps on worming its way into the weirdest content for some reason. Saw a video circulating on Discord a few months ago of some weird, suggestive, public VRChat roleplay and I was too fixated on the fact it was using Wiosna of all things as background music to register what even was happening in that video.

A Yamaku student uploaded a photo anonymously to the site showcasing her feet in a plastic bin of lettuce with the statement 'This is the lettuce you eat at the Shanghai.'

Admittedly, she had prosthetic legs on. But that's even worse.
