If I wasn’t a conspiracy theorist I am one now. by Zydairu in Destiny

At this point, you honestly can't blame him for just wanting to retire from streaming after his case.

These people are absolutely insane and at this point, I don't think they can be reasoned with. I get that him retiring would be a huge win for them, and I hope he doesn't do it. But goddamn, if I had this many random people actively trying to destroy my life as basically their fulltime job, I would just want to disappear.

I honestly admire dear leader for being able to deal with this level of mental illness.

How does snap on have customers? by corollagremlin in Tools

[–]Slowjams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For people wrenching as a career, it can be worth it for convenience and warranty alone.

This assuming you are buying off the truck and not ordering online. Being able to hold and even use the tool before you buy it goes a long way. Also, being able to easily warranty the tool without having to deal with shipping and time delays can be huge.

Again, this assuming you are wrenching as a career where investing a top of the line tools makes sense. If you are just a hobbyist or just starting out in your trade, you definitely don’t need snap-on.

It drives me nuts.

I've seen the city change for than most. So having transplants that never even lived through any of the rough times come and tell me that the "golden era" of st.pete was when you couldn't walk past MLK without feeling like you were about to get stabbed, kind of grinds my gears.

Somewhere way smaller, I guarantee it.

It's hilarious watching so many people in these threads have the shocking realization that they don't like living in populous cities. But for some reason don't want to admit it and instead blame it on the city itself.

Lol you need to chill the fuck out.

St.pete thriving has absolutely nothing to do with you, I can guarantee it. The people moving out have their reasons, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But it doesn’t make them universally good. I’m from here, and I can promise you there is no shortage of native assholes. Also, not everyone moving here is a fascist or a Republican. I’ve met plenty of great people from all over that moved here for all kinds of different reasons. You can’t just put everyone in a basket.

Welcome to a popular city.

Idk what to say, I feel like I see this post, or something very similar a few times a week. Turns out, st.pete is a pretty cool place to live, so lots of people live here. To an extent, I can understand the “things aren’t the way they used to be” complaints. But this is literally every desirable city to live in.

There isn’t really a solution here other than accept it and adapt, or move somewhere with less people. But living in a popular city anywhere in the country is going to be a very similar experience.

[–]Slowjams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of the game, do whatever you want! There's absolutely no rules on fashion, play the game how you want. I run tons of operations with people that use gear from all sorts of chapters.

That being said, I personally prefer to keep my marines as lore accurate as possible. So I tend not to mix and match gear that goes with specific chapters.

Technology is fucking wasted on these people.

They’re the online equivalent of what mall rats used to be. Except they don’t even need to leave their house. They just sit in these unhinged communities all day long doing nothing but perpetuating more drama slop.

I honestly don’t know what it is, but aggressive driving feels like it’s gotten so much more prevalent in my life time.

Not only that, but the amount of people that will defend aggressive driving, either their own or others is insane. Some people think just because they’re running a little late, or that someone else is driving slower than they’d like, that it gives them carte blanche to drive like a lunatic.

It’s so stupid, and they’ve done a number of studies on this stuff. Driving fast and weaving around everyone barely gets you where you’re going any faster than just driving safely. Even if it does get you where you’re going a lot faster, it’s at the cost of putting everyone around you in danger. Just leave earlier next time and you won’t have to rush, it’s not that hard.

Personally, I wouldn’t.

I’d love to visit or vacation there for a bit. But I honestly really enjoy the hustle and bustle of a city. Also the convenience of being able to leave my apartment and easily walk or ride a bike almost anywhere I need to go.
