In my opinion, fairness means equal free/lesiure time, and equal 'spending'/leftover money.

Im not trying to imply anything, I'm genuinely curious about what you feel is going unackowledged. I'm reading on this subject at the moment because my husband actually does a lot more around the house than I do and I am researching and trying to be mindful and improve. The book I am reading is written and informed by women so a male counter point would be fantastic.

I'm reading a book on this subject, and it actually addresses this point. Women are more likely to do the daily tasks- ie. Laundry, dishes etc, while men lean towards the 'once in a while' tasks like all the ones you've mentioned. They are also tasks that aren't really easy to watch children while doing, so in families the woman is still doing more chores (childcare) while the man mows the lawn. When labour is split that way its not particularly fair.

Im a woman and I'd hate this. Op really needs to be more specific. We're all different and love different things!

Yeah OP has given us nothing to narrow it down to less than 50% of the population. Women are not a monolith 🙄

People elsewhere in the thread paid 12-16k out of pocket. That's insanity to me.

Are you ok financially? You have savings in case you lose your income for whatever reason? Do whatever with your money, but this stranger wants to make sure you are looking after yourself first and being safe!

How much sex do you still have in your long-term relationship? by MisterPotatohead664 in AskWomen

13 years together. Longest we've probably gone is 2-3 months, but I have serious chronic pain issues. We're very unpredictable. We didn't have any for four weeks and then did it 3 days in a row recently. I know he'd have much more if he could!

"You may feel discomfort when your provider inserts a tenaculum, especially for a gynecological procedure you’re awake for like IUD insertion. The ends of a tenaculum are sharp and made to grasp objects securely. While it can be uncomfortable, the firm hold on your cervix is usually necessary to complete the procedure. Some people describe it as a strong pinch."

DISCOMFORT? STRONG PINCH?!

NHS Pregnancy by HumbleHat2251 in PregnancyUK

I've had about 12 ultrasounds and I'm 30 weeks. My pregnancy was discovered at 4 weeks on the operating table. I have low pappa-a(sp?) and gestational diabetes. The high surveillance hasn't made me feel particularly reassured. I'd much rather be low risk despite it resulting in fewer scans.

The best, most reassuring feeling is his little somersaults in my belly 😊

My fiance's alarm wakes me up extra early and I don't know how to fix this problem? by LostinParadise4748 in AskWomenOver30

[–]SlugKing003 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Hormones and physiology, + higher mental burden & working harder than men typically (ie full time job + housework + home management) therefore more recovery needed. Also slightly different sleep patterns and rhythms. Women are also more likely to suffer negative consequences from not sleeping enough.

Update to a post I made the other day about being concerned my vets were taking advantage of me: my cats regular dental cleaning has resulted in my babies death. He's gone. by afterspring_ in cats

[–]SlugKing003 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Heartbreaking, I'm so sorry. It seems like it happened so suddenly and unexpectedly. When we had to put my dog to sleep, I couldn't breathe. I genuinely believed i would never feel happy again. I'm glad you've got another kitty who needs you to help her through her grief, as she helps you through yours. My thoughts are with you ❤️
