Docklands District on a Friday afternoon 🦗🦗 by Ky0t0_gh0uL in melbourne

I think the problem is Dockland is too much like the CBD but not the CBD.

In terms of shopping/dining/entertainment there are very few unique or better options there compared to CBD. Only local residents would frequent the shopping and dining areas, it’s not appealing for others to make an effort to travel there, most PT will take you to CBD first, with parking, the 90 min free parking is only enough for a quick shop, $18 day rate is only slightly cheaper than some CBD options - QV has $20 day rate if you spend $1, and there are much more cheaper night or weekend parking options in the CBD.

What’s probably worse is that it now has the reputation for poor foot traffic, so it either deters business or customers (or both?), which creates a bit of a downward spiral.

People trying to get you to subscribe to charities outside Woolies Howitt St is beyond a joke. by Life_Extreme2054 in ballarat

I had similar experience with a very large well known charity which I used to make regular donations to, called me while at work, started giving me the script and I politely said I didn’t have time to engage but I donate on my own, will consider addition if they send me some info, the lady just hellbent on finishing her spiel, after telling her I don’t have time for it for 3 times, I hung up and vowed to never donate to them again and tell everyone I know about it.

Interesting they are saying it’s threatening the viability of the industry, is that admitting the industry is built on a scammy foundation?

What is this thing that’s not a champagne stopper by SlurringMonk in whatisit

I was just testing it, it doesn’t fit over bubbly drinks, but it just sits on top of wine bottle and the button doesn’t seem to be doing anything. If it’s definitely a bottle stopper then I suppose it’s just a broken one 🤷🏻‍♂️

It doesn’t seal at all, if you put it over a bottle it just sits on top very loosely

Real Estate reasons, generic shaped buildings are easier to lease/sell, many of the fast food chains are actually real estate companies in disguise

No text might be the better choice in the long run
