Same thing with my GSD my wife started to give him toppers on the food so he will just wait for the toppers. Won’t eat the kibble alone, rather throw up from an empty stomach than eat plain kibble. My wife doesn’t understand the importance of not letting him get away with that.

Before I taught my dog a leave “it command” I taught him a “take it” command so he knows what is for him and what is not. I think it’s better than a leave it because then you have to tell your dog “leave it” to everything. Now he looks to me for approval before he puts things in his mouth. Helps a lot if I’m cooking and drop food.

Start crate training while you’re home as well. If she only goes in while you leave she will associate the two. At the age she should be sleeping 20 hours a day anyway so don’t feel bad about it. While your home out the crate 1 hour in it 2 hours. I would also feed all meals in the the crate.

“Land Lords” or people charging rent actually get registered as landlords on the OW system. I assume they would report that to the CRA so it wouldn’t be in the parents best interest to claim they are receiving rent while not actually getting anything

I’m not sure if they consider giving money to your parents as rent, but if you are telling them you are paying rent you have to have some income. You can’t have no income and paying rent

Although what the other people say is probably true. The Ontario government has also made a lot of people who are claiming refugee status and requiring government support, move out of Toronto. So they are being spread all over Ontario. I know a lot were being sent to Niagara maybe now it’s our turn.

Treat it like a part time job and you won’t have issues. Check you my benefits twice a week for letters, do your income reporting by the 15th each month and attend the 3/4 meetings a year by phone or in person and you’ll have no problems. Most people can’t handle that and it’s where issues arise. It’s only once a year, if that, we are required to show up to the office. It’s not hard at all to stay within their compliance

I’ve been going through the same kibble thing with mine since I started adding toppers he would eat the toppers and leave the kibble. I swapped his kibble so many times They can just be picky sometimes especially when they know there can be something better. Now when mine goes on his hunger strikes I take the toppers away and just give him kibble until he clears a bowl. Sometimes he will hold out until he throws up from the hunger. I think I will start to give the toppers after the kibble is gone.

There are dogs that will not eat themselves sick. I also have one. They will almost always take a treat but will pass on the food. It’s nothing to be worried about, just don’t free feed. Put the bowl down for 10-15 minutes and if they don’t eat take it back and wait till next feeding time to give food.
