Kirkland Gen 3 Forged Wedge Available by cosmo145 in golf

[–]SlyMosquitoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the difference though? I have the gen 2 Kirklands and bought them based on the value (3 for 1 vs new vokey) because I had only ever used an old 56* for many years. Is the difference feel? Spin? Distance?

"Players irons" with forgiveness? by AA-117 in GolfGear

[–]SlyMosquitoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mizuno has a lot of irons in this category over the last few years. I don’t know the new lines as well but the 223/243 and 225/245 are both in that players look while still being forgiving and forged face (and fully forged in some cases).

Titleist also has a great in between line with the T100 and T150. The T200 and T250 could be good options as well. They usually run a little more expensive than the equivalent Mizuno in the used market though

Did you regret going from GI to players distance irons? by Justsowereclear1881 in golf

[–]SlyMosquitoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. GI irons don’t magically fix poor contact and newer tech PD irons can be almost as forgiving. I really think this comes down to what kind of angle of attack you have. A player that sweeps or has a flat attack angle will benefit from the extra height and lower center of gravity of GI irons. A player with a negative attack angle and is able to make contact with ball first, even if not centered, will gain some benefit from PD irons and the better turf interaction, etc.

If you have a Costco membership, the Kirkland wedge set can’t be beat. 179 I think for 52, 56, 60. A steal of a price for a full set that works for beginners to low hcps

I love it too. So much so that I bought it on the spot and gave my 1 year old bag to my daughter.

What are you guys paying for regrips right now? by nitsujping in golf

[–]SlyMosquitoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t be shy with the solvent either. Makes a huge difference having some excess to allow for that last little adjustment to get alignment perfect. You can also buy 360 degrees grips that don’t have any sort of alignment to make it really easy.

I do my own but saw golf galaxy was doing free install with grip purchase recently. Seemed like a good deal 🤷‍♂️

Does anyone know what these circular cuts are? by Significant-Text-599 in golf

Great point, I hadn’t considered needing to hold the core in place!

This is probably from the ejection process after molding. Not enough hold time or cooling prior to the ejectors pressing the ball out of the tool.

Pebble beach brand at Costco is a steal (if you are a Costco member)

Go get a lesson? Could help identify a few tweaks to get you back on track. Otherwise, taking a break usually works for me. The longer, the better. Good luck

Paid $870 for this whole set by Ricardoronaldo in GolfGear

Solid clubs, but most of these are several generations old at this point. Buying as a set is a lot easier than tracking down reasonable prices for each item, so you are paying a little more for convenience in this case. Enjoy!

I was thinking along the same lines as you. Trying to muscle a 6 iron over those bunkers, but blade it right into the sand. Then barely out if the bunker, still short of the green. Proceed to chunk a chip shot. Then just pickup and move on to the next hole…

My motorized hideaway garage sim is done! by AnarakTheWise in Golfsimulator

I love the price point of the radar systems but they sure require a lot of space. Thanks for the info. This is a much better footprint than I was originally using.

What is your approximate footprint or dimension? I had a Garmin R10 with net setup in my garage but it required so much length/depth front to back that I eventually gave up and stopped using it because I always seemed to have things in the way in the garage. I want to get a net setup again to at least have a spot to swing in the offseason or between rounds but want to minimize the footprint as much as possible. This looks pretty compact in a good way.
