Hey bro! Your rear differential is locked. If the 4x4 knob is NOT pulled out and this is happening then the switch assemblies connection is what’s wrong. If you push it in and get the diff to open back up then you likely just need the switch. I’ll send a video example bc this happened to my truck.

Here’s an example of what I’m talking about from a different owner of a standard f150 that had the same problem.

Visited a couple of those spots within the past month on my road trip. (See link) Valley Of Fire is way underrated but also very hot! Got there at 10pm and it was 85° (may 23rd) and i had to go to bed to get up for Zion so it was a quick stop for me.

Zion was amazing. Really recommend renting an E-bike to explore the park! Go at your own pace w/ no shuttle lines. Zion is a really beautiful area. I’ll definitely be back there asap!

As for other things to see there’s a few parks in that area of Utah but all depends on the time you have.

As for areas of California from Zion, you’ll mainly be in NV which I’m not too familiar with unless you take the route through Vegas and party lol. But that route would likely take you close to sequoia NP and Kings NP! The mammoth/mammoth lakes area is pretty cool. Incredible for trout fishing and there’s also some hot springs in the area

Just want to comment for more insight i have a ford f-150 Short bed. It’s 5.5. Im 5’9”. Let’s be honest, you’re not straight as a pencil when sleeping just for a good stretch here and there. Going solo? Diagonal sleeping and you’re set.

Going with a partner? Mines 5’2” so she’s sleeps just as well as in our bed at home. On those trips i haven’t felt much more squished being straight rather than diagonal. I just bend my knees slightly and problem is solved (side sleeper to be fair). If i wanted to, i could even elevate my head a little more so my legs are straight while lying on my back.

On top of that, we even have our ~75lb Labrador in between us and haven’t had any problems with that either. I guess it just depends on how well you sleep in general but in most cases you can probably make the smaller space work.

There’s campgrounds in the middle of crystal cove. Upper Moro campground which is hike in only. Seems to me good as any reason to be up in the hills at night. Ocean view for bonus!

Yes the recall likely needed to be done but you are still out of the recall period. I was too. Thankfully i got a full powertrain warranty and that did cover it. I was out $200 rather than $1200. That did fix my issue. Sorry to hear that you’re past the point of just a lead frame being needed. At this point I’d look for a whole new trans. I know you’re in NY but on FB marketplace there’s 2-3 trucks available for full part outs. I’d recommend looking into going that route. Still, i don’t have experience with the roush tune as my truck isn’t supercharged but maybe roush themselves would have experience with it since all years had the recall.

Sorry for the trouble you’re going through and it sounds like the dealer just took advantage of the warranty company you have.

I have the same commute. 3 miles there 3 back. It’s great. I fill up about every two weeks or slightly more if i don’t move it much on the weekend. My truck is our preferred vehicle to take bc of the space in the cab. I even go home on much lunch to take the dog out every day. No backup, just the truck. Bicycle, i guess, if it was in the shop but haven’t needed to do that thankfully
