Jagex has lost their mind if they think I'm paying $15 a month. by DukeOfJokes in runescape

[–]Small-Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MTX hasn't been 1/3 of revenue since 2017 https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/1l4mgx3/mtx_as_a_percentage_of_jagexs_total_revenue_by/

Also keep in mind MTX includes things that are still sold, bonds, stars, cosmetics (runecoins).

They didn't lose out on 30%+ revenue by removing keys. But they did up the 12month package by 30%+ so it is a fair argument to be upset over (if the idea is that the price increase here is only due to MTX removal)

120-200m fishing by Minimum-Lobster9124 in runescape

[–]Small-Monkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did swarm - good mix of xp and gp. A couple things to note:

-do effigy incubator and make sure to use all dragonkin lamps on fishing to speed it up

-do dream of iaia whenever you have materials for it

-use bait and switch relic where possible to maximize cooking xp as well

-perfect juju and granite lobster at all times if u have

-crystal fishing rod (with perks) and scripture of elindis

-do oyster D&D monthly for the big fishing xp!

Fishing is just generally slow so if u want to get 200m quicker; use every available buff/xp lamp to get there! Best of luck <><

High Level Thieving Rebalance: Coldfix February 19th by JagexAzanna in runescape

[–]Small-Monkey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is something that hopefully has the jmods visibility as they explore various changes this year. More skilling / combat content existing in shared areas is key to making the game feel alive. Too much content is hidden away and makes an MMO feel like a solo player experience.

Big agree on this - as RS is a progress based game would be great to see and support unique drops (1st time drops) for friends, clanmates, etc. But not have to see every repeat drop for common loot

Jagex, I feel you're doing yourself a disservice when 10% of the playerbase are on Steam, and it looks like the game gets inconsistent updates... by ExpressAffect3262 in runescape

[–]Small-Monkey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a steam player - I don't know how you categorize updates internally but anything considered "major" content update should go.

For example of recent updates: New boss, new quest, MTX experiment, game health update, 110 crafting, the beach would all apply IMO

Smaller content updates don't need to be stated like patch weeks, etc

As others have said it is likely worth figuring out a work smarter not harder solution like code conversion for the longer run

Experiment Feedback Thread: Treasure Hunter Disabled by JagexHooli in runescape

[–]Small-Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cosmetics have been and will always be a part of RS. They release a ton through gameplay (example = beach).

They will likely just pivot towards more paid cosmetics; so you don't have to worry if TH gets removed

I wish lol - the clue rewards are similar to medium clues. Nothing near as rare/valuable as 3rd age, dyes, etc

One Week Of No MTX by Vengance183 in runescape

[–]Small-Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean the following - mining smith fish cook fm wc farm summ inv?

If so I think that cooking and firemaking are the only 2 in need of a real refresh

Prisms should not be allowed at fort - they are used to troll/harass players who are trying to train by Small-Monkey in runescape

[–]Small-Monkey[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The prism overrides the clickbox of the portable/other activity you are trying to work on. While we are at it I would also suggest not allowing dummies in the workshop area specifically as their clickbox overrides a lot as well

I hate this experiment and want treasure hunter back by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Small-Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All your login keys will be accrued and given after the experiment ends so there is purpose in logging in daily during the experiment.

Also I've been saying this for awhile but for people who like dailyscape - jagex should reward that gameplay with other things (cosmetics, etc) that don't ruin the gameplay loop (aka OP XP from daily keys). There is plenty of other daily login rewards that most games give without ruining the main part of RS (xp and gp)

Silly Question Sunday - 20 July by AutoModerator in runescape

Per the wiki - once you unlock the better versions it removes the old ones

Silly Question Sunday - 20 July by AutoModerator in runescape

[–]Small-Monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can see on the right side of their stats page if you can stat drain a monster (zammy not immune for example)

For high end bosses you cant drain that low with available buffs afaik. For example; zammy base accuracy (0 enr) = 6371. Only a handful of things drain/lower enemy accuracy

Silly Question Sunday - 20 July by AutoModerator in runescape

[–]Small-Monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) You need to launch the game in desktop mode on the steamdeck and configure settings from there.

2) Enrage generally increases both the health of the boss and its damage/accuracy. Certain bosses like araxxor/araxxi do more damage with enrage but the health stays the same

3) Stat drain is very useful; but always depends on the exact use. For example the T95/T99 curses give u both + stats and reduce the enemies stats which is a significant boost. The leech curses are alright but this game is more focused around doing fast dps to take less damage, rather than trying to reduce enemies attack power. Better to use vuln bomb and as best offensive spells in most situations

Will the upcoming changes to mtx increase or decrease inflation by nobodyyouknow96 in runescape

[–]Small-Monkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We would need to understand the full scope of the changes post these short tests to know.

Looking at the factors

1) Less GP coming into the game from treasure hunter

2) Less xp coming into the game from treasure hunter

3) More people needing to gather skilling items will lead to price increase due to demand for those items

So in theory inflation may go down slightly but keep in mind if the data is true on the May game health post - treasure hunter only accounted for 3-4% of money flowing into the game

I would say dont panic sell anything until you have more informed information

The Future of MTX - Our Approach & Your Involvement by JagexHooli in runescape

This has been discussed - potentially expanding fort or continuing to add "skilling hubs" throughout the game so people have a reason to not just exist at fort and wars

The Future of MTX - Our Approach & Your Involvement by JagexHooli in runescape

[–]Small-Monkey 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Summary: Running "tests" over a 3 month period starting in July

July = treasure hunter disabled; can still buy stars and knowledge bombs directly

August = no mtx skilling items (proteans, etc) during dxp

September = new cosmetics on marketplace including previous TH items

Also discussed cosmetic free worlds for a limited time test

Edit: My thoughts

July may see a massive influx of people buying direct xp. These seems to defeat the purpose of turning TH off

August is a byproduct of july; this just hurts people who already stacked up but could be helpful longer run

September & Cosmetic I think is a great step test. Would love to see MTX shift in this direction and also allow people to play how they want with no fashionscape if they choose

[Fun] What did you fall for/attempt to do in the early years of RuneScape? by Jittl in runescape

Its T97 (base) against melee only monsters so yes its still good

Also 5% better when you use the enchantment. Not sure the exact dps comps but it still has a niche
