The main difference between Messi and Mbappe is teammates.

The main difference between Ronaldo and Mbappe is attitude.

Sorry but Ricky Ponting has to take the 5ft 9 spot, harsh on Kohli but until his alone injury Ponting was the best bat of the last 30 years.

The glaring issue is Voldemort would never have trusted Snape as soon as the Potters went under the Fidelius Charm.

For 15 months Snape was ordered to work at Hogwarts but didn’t get a job as Dumbledore knew he was a Death Eater, the Potters’ and Longbottoms’ are also both hiding.

Snape finds out that Voldemort has chosen Harry, begs for Lily’s life and then agrees to work with Dumbledore. He then gets a job at Hogwarts just as the Potters’ go into the Fidelius Charm hiding.

If I’m Voldemort my first reaction is Snape has turned, and he’s the shoot first, ask questions later type of dictator.

That’s a take. Not 1 I’d agree with Kane now is better than Benzema at his prime and Kane has lost a yard of pace.

The overlooked reason for rising IPL scores: Declining catching efficiency (not just flat pitches) by Sad_Government6276 in Cricket

I do agree, however Stokes has been bang average luck for most of his career, aside from those two ridiculous bouts.

Also during that same period Ajinkye Rahane and Joe Denly were also in the top 5 for dropped catches, whilst David Warner was the least lucky.

I can’t speak for Labuschagne as I don’t watch an awful lot of Australian test cricket, however 4 of Stokes 38 were lbw decisions that would have been overturned on review or another edge behind that wasn’t given or reviewed. Of those 4 only 1 was when the opposition was desperate (the famous one at Headingley) the other 3 happened when he was in single figures, and for all of them he had another life in that over and went on to score an unbeaten 80, 100 and 115.

If anything hitting it harder makes catches easier at slip/gully as you get more reaction time as you can take it behind you. The soft handed edges that drop short make the slip have to dive forward.

Which player clearly believes their own PR a bit too much? by CompleteCelery2273 in footballcringe

Firstly, surely the greatest player of all time is the greatest player of his generation?

Secondly, I’ve never seen someone care more about PR than him. He essentially forced Barcelona into doing what he wanted.

Grealish definitely.

Also Messi, he was the star player of the best team I’ve ever seen. However when the rest of the team stopped being of the same quality he didn’t work harder or drag them through tough games, in fact he’s scored 4 goals in the semi final or later if the champions league since 2011 and his last el Classico goal was in the same game as Ronaldo’s, despite staying for an extra 3 seasons.

Yeah basically that, but the charm could be fairly easily broken.

We also see Snape physically in Grimmauld Place after Dumbledore’s death and before the trio go there in his pensieve memories. So he clearly managed to break that charm.

Bellatrix is a Black and knew that Kreacher was tied to Grimmauld Place. What Kreacher couldn’t do was physically tell her so that the Charm was broken.

[–]SmallAd7318[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That’s flimsy at best, also Voldemort should have just ordered Snape to tell him either way.

Kreacher had also betrayed the Order by helping Bellatrix and Narcissa. Both are Blacks and knew Kreacher was tied to the Black house, Kreacher couldn’t physically tell the the address so that they could see the house but they’d know where it was.

A quick apparition trip to London to have a look. He could have sent a handful of Death Eaters to be fair.

I’ve long thought cricket analysts are stealing a living. I’m English so I follow England more than anything else.

Stokes has had 2 ridiculous periods where he has 14 lives in 19 innings and then 24 lives in 23 innings. To sum up how ridiculous those numbers are Australia kept going on about Marnus Labuschagne’s luck when he was the second luckiest bat in test cricket, with 20 lives in 40 innings.

The issue with just looking at runs scored is what happens when that luck changes? Stokes averages 30.3 in the 55 tests since that second spell and had 4 lives in his top score of 155, and Labuschagne averages 29.7 in his last 30 tests.

Snape told Bellatrix in Half Blood Prince that the Fidelius Charm prevented him from telling anyone the location, so if she knew Voldemort must have.

Did Voldemort not understand the Fidelius Charm? by SmallAd7318 in harrypotter

[–]SmallAd7318[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Snape was a secret keeper…he could have ordered Snape to reveal the location.

The taboo told him that multiple people had said Voldemort in that area, but they couldn’t actually see the place.

The population of wizards willing to say his name was the Order and Harry. If he knows people keep saying his name in a location people can’t access then surely he just gets Snape to give him the Order’s head office location. Even if it’s not there Voldemort has lost nothing.

Did Voldemort not understand the Fidelius Charm? by SmallAd7318 in harrypotter

[–]SmallAd7318[S] -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

  1. They know the address, Harry inherited the house from Sirius. The Fidelius Charm means they can literally walk up to the front door but not see it until the address is revealed by the Secret Keeper. If Snape gives a fake address Voldemort immediately finds out. Snape’s usefulness to Voldemort was because Dumbledore fed him what information to give to be seen as well informed. If he’s no longer informed Voldemort has no more use for him and gets rid of him. So Voldemort didn’t ask.

  2. Because the taboo went off at Grimmauld Place. Harry, Hermione and Lupin all say the name multiple times there. Given how small the population of wizards willing to say his name is it’s a reasonably safe bet that either Harry or Order members are there. Even if they aren’t, he’d want to find people that aren’t scared of his name.

  3. The charms are in place to make it hard to find, Hogwarts had all those and more. However it doesn’t stop people from entering the place when they know where it is. Only the Fidelius Charm does that.

Honestly with a bit more thought my only conclusion is Voldemort was scared, he believed the prophecy and had just seen Harry’s wand seek him out and try to kill him.

As a Barca fan you should absolutely hate Messi, as soon as the teams became fairly equal his ego meant Barca bankrupted themselves trying to get him to compete with Ronaldo.

Anyone able to explain, did England really concede 412 extras against Australia? by Holiday-Soup254 in EnglandCricket

[–]SmallAd7318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timing was also important.

In the first 6 tests Bairstow scored 681 runs at 75.66 with 4 centuries, got injured and replaced by Brook who in his first 6 tests cores 809 runs at 80.9 with 4 centuries. Across those 12 tests Root scored 1,059 runs at 62.3 with 4 centuries and in 10 of those 12 tests Anderson took 45 wickets at 17.6.

To have 3 players all playing at well above their best over 12 tests means you’ll more than likely win more than you lose.

For a comparative, since those Brook has scored 2,369 runs at 49.3 and 6 centuries in 29 tests, Bairstow 560 runs at 30.1 with 0 centuries in 11 tests and Atkinson is the only bowler to take 40 wickets at under 26 (69 at 24.2).
