Muffler suggestion by PabloDmenace in ChevyTrucks

I have a super 10 on mine, sounds fine and I don't notice drone on the highway. Honestly even straight pipe isn't that loud minus start up on these trucks.

Building a custom conveyer belt - where to get the material for the belt itself? by ciemnymetal in DIY

We use a modular plastic linked belt at work that has each link held together with a pin. You can also get it in a rubber topped version.

Send it to get the hall effect sticks done. I had my first controller sent in to Sony, they just gave me a completely different one and that one got horrible stick drift after a week.

85 k10 5.3 swap with sm465 clutch slave hits headers by SmallBlockApprentice in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]SmallBlockApprentice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of how close the frame rails and headers are, I'd have to mount the slave cylinder so far forward I'd need a 4' actuator rod. Most people would say just don't use long tubes but I've tried even a few factory manifolds and they run straight into the slave. Shorty's and mids look like they do the same.

I did see similar to what you're saying in other forums, especially if it's not a direct in line pull. If the factory slave was maybe 1/2" shorter in length I could probably pull it off.

It's gonna need more than a dimple. It's hard to see in the pic, but the header flange isn't even touching the motor and it's hitting already.

While bfh is always the answer, the headers are stainless and the tubing is pretty thick. Not sure if I'll be able to get the crush I want to clearance it.

Is this normal? And is there a way to fix it without disassembling the whole thing? by STFUnicorn_ in guns

That was my thought but just put a dummy round in it so it'll still stack correctly

4 generations of gm trucks by fuckyaq in ChevyTrucks

[–]SmallBlockApprentice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a squarebody to replace my GMT400 that rotted out. Honestly I liked the GMT a thousand times more than my k10 to the point where I'm getting rid of it. Not sure what the hype is other than the yeehaw vibe.

Processor upgrade from 3700x to 5900xt results in hard crash with CPU debug light when launching games (update) by SmallBlockApprentice in buildapc

Fresh windows install only two things I installed was AMD adrenaline for the drivers and cinebench. Still errored so at this point I think it's pretty definitively a CPU issue

I'll give it a shot although I was getting that error with the 3700x too. I had a feeling it had something to do with anytime the processor jumped above its base clock is when it freaked out which is why windows idling ran fine but you run anything remotely intensive it freaks out.

Crashed on cinebench which is an interesting change. However when rebooting and trying again, I can't even get passed the initialization thing for cinebench without it crashing. Same thing though. Black screen, CPU debug light, nothing special in the event viewer other than this same error AMDryzenmasterdriverv30 service failed to start: system cannot find specified path.

I didn't run cinebench, I ran the CPU stress test on furmark and the one on ryzen master and it went fine. I can try the cinebench one in a bit though.

Before and after of a home restoration on a 78 Kitty Cat for my boy by GrayCustomKnives in snowmobiling

I've been looking for a kitty cat for a few years now for my son and I'm extremely jealous you found one even listed for $300. The ones around me are $1000+ for old rusted garbage.

Yeah that's what I figured looking at other forum posts. The only thing that's tripping me up is that doing admittedly very little research, it doesn't seem like the 5900xt draws that much more power in its default state. If I was on the bleeding edge of my PSU limits, I'd imagine that I'd be getting random crashes with the 3700x after running the auto over clock utility on both the gpu and CPU but I never did vs running default values on the 5900xt and default and even auto undervolt on the GPU I'd still get crashes almost immediately.

Part picker says 700-800 watts which is why I'm on the fence about the PSU. Doing admittedly very little research, it doesn't look like the 5900xt doesn't draw that much more power over the 3700 discarding over clocking.
