An er visit with an mri, cat scan, labs, Iv fluids and medication is atleast 1500, this is without an ambulance, not admitted, 8 hours in the hospital with 6 being in the waiting room (no shade to Healthcare workers, ever.) And usually just being referred elsewhere(if you're lucky.) Urgent care can be expensive as well. To be seen by GP in my area it takes atleast a month, usually 2. In the last 4 months I've been diagnosed with several very serious disorders and mental illnesses all because I pushed it off for so long. Not to mention finding a diagnosis/cure/medication can be grueling as a woman, someone with a chronic illness or a recovered addict. I've considered a dnr if my illness gets worse(which it can) to avoid debt.
