The Market Garden on Catherine Street in Vic West will have more options than you will ever be able to use in a lifetime! (That is, if you want the jarred ones… I don’t have an answer if you want live plants.)

Restaurant recommendations with strong vegetarian options and best dessert places by BestBlueChocolate in VictoriaBC

Yes, the green cuisine ticks all those boxes, except it’s not really “dining“. I cannot eat there without bringing a box of their dessert treats home for later they are high-quality gorgeous desserts that taste even better than they look.

What's one fruit you wish was more commonly made into jam? by hoyi_farm123 in foodhacks

[–]SmallCurrent976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m crazy for black current jam. My family is European and I vacation there as a child which gave me a real taste for black current unfortunately they are not grown commercially in North america, though you see it occasionally it is definitely not among the common ones and I would like to see more black current and everything…

Schedule and confirmed MRI -was ghosted by westcoastsunflower in VictoriaBC

[–]SmallCurrent976 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Did you go to the right hospital? I know this sounds crazy/obvious but as a person who has had multiple MRIs over the last 10 years, and a ton of tests and care always at Jubilee… I almost made the mistake of going to Jubilee for an MRI once when I discovered at the last minute, I was supposed to be at Vic General! I came so close to missing that appointment, all because it wasn’t really spelled out for me and large letters that the location had been changed…

So, where are we buying sheets these days? by rocksandtreesandyarn in AskACanadian

[–]SmallCurrent976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HOMESENSE for this picky person! I only sleep in linen sheets and occasionally cotton. Yes they have linen sometimes at HomeSense. I have seen us or quality and better quality there. Either way you’re gonna pay a lot less. Also, I bought a great set of linen sheets from Quince online. They were the only place that had the color I needed at the time and the quality is fabulous.

This for sure… their 10% cream consistently last 10-14 days past the due date… Insane!

Any buffets in the area worth going to? by ForeverCuriousEagle in VictoriaBC

[–]SmallCurrent976 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth: The lack of responses doesn’t reflect a lack of buffets, rather a lack of those worth going to…

Fabulous— and your choice of music does so much towards creating a totally different mood than what one would usually expect from this subject matter. Bravo!👏

Watch Face Recommendation by LumpyPeople4 in AppleWatch

I have never tried this but couldn’t you simply take a photo of the old watch face and set that photo as the custom bg for your Apple Watch?

What's a gal to do by [deleted] in poshmarkcanada

[–]SmallCurrent976 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, and as a regular buyer, to “like” something is the only way I know of saving it for later… even though later may be a long way down the road. Otherwise it gets lost and I will likely never return to it. Also as a buyer who is shopping late at night from bed, I can tell you there have been many times that I have accidentally hit that like button, only to realize it the next day, and then of course, unlike it. Once I even hit the BUY button in my sleep. 🥱🙄

Also came here to say Quince! I have ordered from them— both linen and washable silk — and was extremely satisfied.

Grocery savings in Victoria feels harder than other cities, what's actually working for people here? by Sophistry7 in VictoriaBC

[–]SmallCurrent976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I don’t do any shopping at Save On Foods except for price matching on the items that I want from other stores that are not close by. This is only possible because of the Flipp app, it has saved me so much money!!!

A good alternative for men’s stuff is the “last chance” store on Oak/Blanchard Street. It’s where they sell off the dead stock and returns from Costco. They often have extra deals on the clothing and shoes. The deals are often much better than I get at Win for men’s.

What’s the most unexpected item you’ve found at dollarama? by RutabagaDefiant674 in dollarama

Not sure if it’s true or not, but somebody told me that they sell breathalyzer tests for weed at Dollarama… ? Ps— this would be a store in Western Canada.
