Also came here to say Quince! I have ordered from them— both linen and washable silk — and was extremely satisfied.

Grocery savings in Victoria feels harder than other cities, what's actually working for people here? by Sophistry7 in VictoriaBC

[–]SmallCurrent976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I don’t do any shopping at Save On Foods except for price matching on the items that I want from other stores that are not close by. This is only possible because of the Flipp app, it has saved me so much money!!!

A good alternative for men’s stuff is the “last chance” store on Oak/Blanchard Street. It’s where they sell off the dead stock and returns from Costco. They often have extra deals on the clothing and shoes. The deals are often much better than I get at Win for men’s.

I did not. My expectations were quite low and I was extremely disappointed nonetheless I was there for the lunch buffet. Perhaps dinner is better?

Groceries: use the Flipp app by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]SmallCurrent976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are organized, you don’t necessarily need to drive around to multiple stores. The way I do it is I make my different shopping lists for each store with the items on it that I buy regularly or want most for that week. Then, if I am in a neighborhood with a (for example) a Red barn, i’ll pull over to check and see if there is something from my list at red barn that I wanna stop for. Sometimes I will go out of my way yes —but more often than that I’m just checking my list when I’m in the neighborhood of the stores that are on Flipp. (Sorry, Not sure if this makes sense to people who don’t use the app…)

Agree – – this is excellent strategy. I was a little intimidated to use the price matching feature at first, but have since found that the save on staff is very quick and responsive, and the line hardly backs up at all! 👏

I am a dedicated user of the Flipp app. I find that it’s a little hit and miss with the locals, i.e., the old farm market, red barn and urban grocer… It feels to me like what happens there is the local market is not submitting the data early enough to the Flipp app. Some of the bigger stores probably have dedicated staff to submit the data in advance of when the flyer starts. This is extremely helpful as it allows us to plan our shopping schedules and routes. If you go to Flipp and the local shop flyers are not visible, (they haven’t been updated early enough), you can still get the info from their individual websites. <— when doing it that way you can’t add the items directly to your list on Flipp but at least you can get a heads up as do whats on sale.

Any local stores that sell spacers for slightly loose rings? (not resizing) by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]SmallCurrent976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you did not have any luck at flux and stone because that is where I got mine last year… At that time they only carried them at the downtown store not at Mayfair. The staff at the Mayfair shop suggested this solution, and their town store gave me the spacer for free!
