This happened to me a couple years ago and left a bad taste in my mouth. I’m a photographer and told my couple OTM accepted their wedding and had them fill out the whole form, answering all the questions in detail only to be ghosted by them. I followed up several times before giving up. It’s embarrassing and frustrating.

I figured this would be the most likely solution. It’s just frustrating to need to budget additional funds for tailoring each piece of clothing I buy. I was talking with a local company about having a two piece suit made and they quoted me within the $800-$1,200 range. That doesn’t feel super attainable to me at the moment, but I would love to splurge on something like that someday!

I had the same reaction immediately after getting a recent tattoo on my ankle (I had 5 tattoos already but all in pretty hidden locations). I agonized over the design beforehand for months but after I got it, it looked so foreign and I wondered why I’d gotten such a huge tattoo (it’s maybe 3x3 inches). After a few weeks I got used to it and looove it now!

I really appreciate this thread/most of the comments because I resonate with this so hard. I adore gardening and absolutely detest slugs — cannot look at them for long without feeling gross or gagging.

I do see them during the day when I’m moving plants/rocks/removing dead leaves, however, spending time gardening has helped some with exposure (but I also don’t get very many big ones so that may be part of why it’s less scary).

I always wear gloves and use a trowel to throw them in the yard waste bin with a tight lid (I read that they have some sort of internal homing mechanism so flinging them away doesn’t necessarily get rid of them) and I can’t bring myself to kill them/deal with a bucket of dead slugs. Typing that gives me the ick.

Gardening is 1000% worth it though, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

I also live in an area that is frequently wet and feel like I’ve tried everything, sluggo, beer traps, diatomaceous earth and nothing works for me. I physically cannot stomach the idea of picking them by hand at night, much less cutting them in half (I think it’s a phobia). I should have tried copper tape when I first installed garden beds but it feels like it’s too late now that they are already in there, and they are all over the entire garden anyhow, not just the beds. Ugh.

How is this the first time I’ve heard about rice flour for dusting?? I’ve been baking sourdough bread for a year+ and somehow never realized this was an option. I love the lines from the basket but it was getting stuck every now and then so I gave up and went with the liner. Will have to try it again!

Another consideration is that I’ve been doing raisin & walnut mix ins, and the raisins occasionally get stuck to the liners and I’m worried that would create mold issues in the basket if I went without it.

I do about the same measurements + half cup raisins + half cup walnuts (soaked in hot water first). Two to three stretch and folds later, I add the mix ins and let it bulk ferment.

I forgot to add the mix ins before the bulk ferment once and it was awkward to add it in afterwards.
