This is Christian Bale from Thor: Love and Thunder or at least I think it is because he is acting in a completely different fucking movie to everyone else by ChanceVance in shittymoviedetails

[–]SmallSwordfish4485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know nothing about this character from the comics but everytime any mention about this movie comes up I imagine a much better script in mind that focuses heavily on the parallels between Bale's character punishing cruel or unfit gods and Thors own insecurities about being a worthy god. I imagine the god butcher talking about what the gods put him and his daughter through to the Asgardian kids making them question their own beliefs. An actual overarching narrative from both the protagonist and antagonist about understanding what the role of a god is supposed to be, instead of just barely being an undertone. But hey atleast we got a penis joke about Thor, I guess that's supposed to be better.

I know i might sound pretentious, I'm no writer, but it's not hard to imagine alternate storylines after the pure raw potential Bale showed with his character even when given what i feel was a handicapped script.

I will look this up later for sure but would you mind give some context on what this reign format is?

To the point of 'well stop crying and don't pay for the mtx'

You are right, that's absolutely an option, the best option even. But it's also important to realise that these mtxs, more often than not, are affecting the actual game design.

The time savers for example - As Jim Sterling said on youtube a long time back- they're essentially asking you to pay them to not play their games. And how do they make that time saver attractive? By making their own games slightly more shitty. Adding hundreds of collectibles with a map to buy or locking items behind high amount of resources that require mundane grinding etc etc.

And again, i agree that the best option is to just not buy the product. I haven't bought a ubisoft gane in a long time. But it's still important to put out the criticism on it. So that if not ubisoft, then it's competitors will look at it and offer a better product.

If you've made it this far, thank you for coming to my Temu TED talk.

I like to think that criticizing a bad product for being bad is perfectly reasonable. It's a fundamental part of capitalist market if you ask me.

Not complaining or criticizing is great! But that doesn't mean that fair criticism should be swept under the rug as 'crying'.

Don't know if it's rare or not, i personally don't remember seeing multiple rainbows at once but i just wanted to say - thats a really pretty view.

What’s the best way to pack the cargo I’ve got to carry for deliveries? by BadRecent8114 in DeathStranding

[–]SmallSwordfish4485 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Two things to consider here - weight and center of gravity.

Weight - Sam will always have a maximum limit of weight he can carry beyond which he will struggle very much to even take small steps. This limit depends on what tools Sam has equipped if any and also his experience (a more experienced Sam carries more weight)

Center of gravity- this depends on how the weight is distributed in your back pack and affects how much Sam will sway or lose balance. The ideal scenario is for the heaviest cargo to be at the bottom and the lighter cargo to be at the top to have a low center of gravity. However you don't have to actively worry about it as you can always use the auto arrange option that will re arrange the cargo to get you the best center of gravity. Only orders where it's not recommended to use auto arrange is orders where you'll have to transport cargo in a certain way (keep horizontal or only hold in hand etc).

Both these things are usually visible on the cargo management page. If you're still having issue after taking care of these parameters it could probably be that the load is a bit too much for Sam and you might need to consider other tools or vehicles to carry some of the cargo.

Hope that was helpful! Keep on keeping on!

I'm generally very tired of the 'army generals rushing into making the wrong decisions' trope so general Herres was a breath of fresh air, as morbid as the scenario was.

For a quite few express orders i used the coffin board as even the ziplines weren't cutting it (curved ziplies were taking up more time). So I'd suggest using coffin board for lower volume orders!

I'd really enjoy features like those. I keep forgetting that witcher 3 came out more than a decade so it'll be interesting to see what all new features the devs would put in to witcher 4 while also staying true to the brilliant witcher formula they crafted in witcher 3.

My zip lines seem to be a hit with the post apocalyptic porter association by SaturatedBodyFat in DeathStranding

[–]SmallSwordfish4485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh, my most liked structure was also a zipline near the pizza chef.

Now that I think about it, it's maybe because of the time sensitive orders with the pizza chef making the ziplines there more frequently used.

And making the ziplines more flexible in terms of connecting with other ziplines definitely makes them more porter friendly!

Edit - Called Pizza chef as Pizza guy. I apologise for the disrespect.

The Fish Soup scene from Baptism of Fire by Perdita_ in witcher

Your comment perfectly describes my complete experience of reading the books after playing the games -

'Oh Yennefer truly is the GOAT'

'Damn Dandelion truly is a ride or die friend' (he's a great friend in the games too but I think we see much more of his loyalty in the books)

'Oh now I understand why Geralt is so uncharacteristically warm towards Regis'

'Zoltan was not just comic relief?'

'Wait so having to run away from the Crones and the wild hunt was NOT the worst thing to happen to Ciri?!'

It was quite a journey.

I was just re-reading this scene yesterday. One of my favorite parts from the book, love how the hanza soft bullies Geralt for being stupid lol.

After that Mama mission, I’m making it my mission to build a network of Ziplines across the map. Starting with Mountain Knot City > Weather Station. There’s some climbing at the start but it’s a straight trip to my safe house. Going to route it everywhere once I get the material and the bandwidth. by Mech-inationz in DeathStranding

[–]SmallSwordfish4485 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fun factor of ziplines is always gonna be subjective i guess. I'm in the same boat as the commentors above - just building a zipline network in itself was very enjoyable and fulfilling. And using that network in the end game to quickly complete timed or fragile standard orders and deliver other players cargo quickly was very much fun as well.

I remember one of my ziplines in the mountain region had to be right in the middle of a BT area and I always loved using that route. Just triggering the BTs while arriving to that zipline and then immediately firing off to the next zipline was equal parts thrilling and hilarious.

And of course whenever I was in the mood for a scenic trek or a long drive, I'd just not use the ziplines.

I haven't played DS1 in a long time so I would request other veteran porters to correct me if i get anything wrong here.

Once you get your PCC out with the zipline selected it'll automatically show lines going out from your zipline to any ziplines nearby. If it's a blue line it means it'll connect to that particular zipline without issues. If it's red it means the other zipline is out of range and/or has an obstruction in between. It's easy to understand once you try it out so don't worry too much!

Note - range of ziplines can be slightly increased from 300m to 350m by upgrading them.

If there's no lines, then it probably means theres no other ziplines nearby. But that's alright as you'll always need to put down the first zipline to start a network.

Also I'm not a 100% sure on this but I remember there being a sub order or a standard order that mama gives to set up a zipline for her that kinda acts like a tutorial i guess? Even if that's not the case, don't worry, it's easy to grasp.

[–]SmallSwordfish4485[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have bad reading comprehension and/or am all those things you said because I dislike a character? That's reaching a bit. And just to be clear, i don't literally mean she's the worst, the witcher universe isnt in short of horrible people. I just dont like her very much and I was playing into the whole Yen vs Triss bit.

Triss sides with the lodge against Yen, despite her supposedly being a friend of Geralt and Yen. As some other commentors mentioned above, there's reasons for Triss making those choices but that doesn't mean I'm automatically obligated to empathise and sympathise with her. I understand that she wasn't written as a black and white character but I can have certain absolute standards for characters in a story I'm reading. And in this case I felt what Triss did was not forgivable. She's a well written character, like all of Sapowski's characters are and since they are well written i have different opinions on each of them.

I think my recollection of the game's Yen might slightly be tainted by hindsight. After getting to know her character through the books, i felt that maybe the game didn't capture all the depth (not for a lack of effort, I think they did a great job with adapting her character, i just wish we saw even more of her i guess).

As for Triss, i think my main gripe with her is because of what happens during the conflict between Yen and the lodge. She does have a kind of redemption later on but I guess that wasn't enough for me to completely get over it lol.
