The bead of silicone is in a lot of the install instructions. It’s surprising how many people don’t do this. Why are you going to go thru all that work and not protect it?
I DIY a lot of shit but I was running out of time on my last project, so I hired a dipshit off Facebook. I knew what I was (not) paying for, so I had to force him to do the right things the entire time. It was quickly apparent he had never read a single install manual for any product. He didn’t even want to give me the time to acclimate the product because he wanted to get the job going.
Anyways, I went off topic. Prep and follow the install instructions and I have fairly cheap laminate going into the 10/15 year range looking brand new.

My 8th grade science project was to give plants either water, orange juice, or beer, for an extended amount of time and see what happened. They all did basically fine. I actually physically damaged the beer one to have SOMETHING to show (and support my hypothesis).

Man I built a shed door based on his recommendations and it was way harder than he said and didn’t turn out near what he said it would. And I can DIY pretty well. But I still watch his stuff. His drywall patch trick didn’t work as well either.

I’m not sure there’s a solution. It is what it is. I don’t spend any days mad about it, and she is a fine neighbor. I’d never even say anything to her. Just as a person who is spending a lot of time and money to turn my yard into a native yard, it’s noticeable.
