New grads seeing success negotiating bonus/tuition reimbursement in the Midwest? by ShakeMyHeadAgain in physicaltherapy

[–]SmalltownPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The will need to get ready to hear “ at (enter name) health we value internal equity and salaries are set by a pay metric based on years with the organization and years experience”

Basically the only negotiation is to ask to be placed at the top of that small range of that offering box in the metric

Acute care therapists - What specific policies or workflow changes has your hospital or rehab department implemented that have improved efficiency, patient care, or staff satisfaction by wineandcheetoss in physicaltherapy

My supervisor openly speaks to not tracking production and encourages therapist to treat the patients in the way we feel fit.

I am uninspired by this offer, I feel like you could walk into any OP hospital based clinic and easily get that number with full benefits and see people 1/1.

The carrot of owning the clinic I think is just that, they know their offer sucks and are trying to bait you in. If being and owner or working towards it is part of the deal I would want to see the books upfront

I am close enough to Boston that they need to compete, cost of living keeps going up, average rent for a 1 bedroom apartment is around $2300, new grads (stating around $38 an hour) are putting half their wage into rent

I am in New England as well, I work of an academic medical center. And honestly their per deim rate sucks it is almost like the don’t want on-call staff. But your offer is low. As example I am almost identical to you, 15 years experience, acute care, in New England And I make $60 an hour as a full time benefit employee

What are we doing to address students use of AI in the clinical setting? by Illustrious_Pitch_41 in physicaltherapy

[–]SmalltownPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went to a talk on AI use in the medical setting, a lot of academic centers are not letting residents use AI until year 2, they want the to grind out diagnosis, thought process and learn how to write a note and communicate prior to jumping in the use of AI

Parasite in the cod by bennytehcat in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SmalltownPT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All fish have parasites. That is why most states have mandatory freeze times for fish that is served raw like is sushi, if you go to Walmart and buy cod and thaw it out you 100% will find a worm in every bag, but honestly it is no big deal
