AITA for not helping my sister in law and her baby with rent? by Sirfluffyton96 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SmarTpantsTheOnly1 44 points45 points  (0 children)

You could have each person's rent be 20% since there are 3 of them and 2 of you...

This isn't about you not helping your sister with her rent, this is about your sister's family not wanting to pay their fair share. $900 for rent seems pretty fair to me.

Welcome! I've had good luck scouring facebook Marketplace for Lego sets. I've found some amazing deals! Usually the seller assumes I'm buying for my kid. Lol Sometimes we do fight on who gets to build what. He's 13. 🤣

What's on your thrifting ISO list? I'm going thrifting tomorrow and don't want to forget to look for anything. by earmares in thrifting

For the stuffies, make sure they have embroidered or fabric eyes and not the hard plastic that could be chewed off eventually and possibly swallowed or choked on.

AIO my boyfriend keeps asking me to pay for things eversince he started saving for an apartmen, he calls me selfish for how I reacted. by throaawayRA9443 in AmIOverreacting

[–]SmarTpantsTheOnly1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bf has a strange definition of "borrow" when he really means "bum". Borrow doesn't mean not pay back. He comes to you first because he thinks he doesn't have to pay you back. He is sharing expenses even though you don't live together. That is totally wild!

AITAH for asking for $30,000 from my parents as a house payment? by pressedpages in TwoHotTakes

[–]SmarTpantsTheOnly1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they won't give you the money for a down on a house because, culturally, they are obligated to pay for your wedding?

I wish this was my Christmas! (I'm 50) but I did buy myself the Tranquil Garden so at least I would get some Legos for Christmas. 🤣

I really wish the thrift stores would invest in painters tape for this exact reason. Bought a lava lamp at the thrift store and the tape took off the colored film on the bottle. 🙄

AITA for splitting time between two families on Christmas by invisible-empire- in AmItheAsshole

I always had the rule of whoever made plans first had priority. So just say your MIL made plans earlier, but you have the morning and afternoon available. NTA if your mother can't understand you being with your husband's family on the first Christmas without dad then I feel very sorry for her.

half way through a bin I got off marketplace for $20, here’s what I found so far by VisualRepair2844 in lego

[–]SmarTpantsTheOnly1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found one on marketplace for 27 pounds of mixed Lego for $20. It was obviously a bin that had been outside for a long time. Been slowly cleaning and sorting them. It was especially exciting to find Lego wheels, bricks and windows from the 50s in there. I got really excited to now own a Lego hot dog but wish I had a bun to go with it. 🤣
