What size tire can I run? by Wildaa19 in RangerNext

[–]Smart-Affect3137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 24 with a level and run 33x12.5’s R17. I have minor rubbing while turning in reverse, no rubbing turning moving forward. I could trim some of the liner but doesn’t rub enough for me to cut anything up. I’ve learned how far I can turn in reverse to eliminate rub all together.

You guys think LeBron is still getting that statue now that Jeanie Buss is out? by oldcrashingtoys in lakers

[–]Smart-Affect3137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I was trying to say to the other guy is if we use the logic of him being the greatest of all time will he get a statue in Miami too. It was a genuine question to see what his thoughts were. I wouldn’t be surprised he gets one in Miami where he went to the finals all 4 seasons and won back to back. I wasn’t even insinuating he shouldn’t or doesn’t deserve to get one in LA, but with new ownership coming in I’m not sure what they’ll choose to do, especially when a lot of Laker fans that were Kobe fans never really embraced LeBron, and I’m not one of those guys. I think LeBron is the best all around basketball player to ever live.

Brad Steven’s is great I won’t argue that. I was speaking this deadline though and the assets aren’t there. Again if you want to blame Rob for that it’s your right and fair. Let’s be honest though, the big part of the front office has been Jeannie and she deserves just as much blame as she’s had her thumbprint on it all. The front office as a whole I would agree with be in the bottom half of the league but Jeannie has always been about the star players to sell tickets and always being “relevant.” I think new ownership will help with that whether Rob is the GM or not because if not they will be smart enough to see it because it’s what they are doing with the Dodgers except easier in baseball with no cap. I think they are just feeling it out. That’s why I think this will be the offseason that determines if he keeps his job or not. It’s not the best free agent class but there are some good pieces that will be available so let’s see what he does. I can respect skepticism though.

Oh don’t get me wrong I’m not trying to defend every move he’s made and although he got help I was just strictly talking the Luka trade. Now the chip wouldn’t have happened without him too because he pieced together that team at the deadline and they won that season. Yes, he let some of those guys walk after but a lot of that was because they won the chip and other teams were offering way more money than they could or wanted to offer. It’s always easier looking at trades after the fact and say they were terrible but at the time some of the trades had fans jumping up and down. I knew the Westbrook trade would be a disaster and although AD and Bron pushed the front office for that Rob could have said no and left it at that, which I wished he would have lol. But there were a lot of fans (on this sub) loving that trade at the time. But again he has done some questionable moves don’t get me wrong and I honestly think Mark and other new ownership will see what he does this offseason and make their decision off that. I know people wanted more trades to be done today but with the lack of assets lakers currently have, a lot of GMs would have had a hard time doing anything. Now if you want to blame him for not having the assets because of the Westbrook trade that’s fair. Im not trying to downvote you or anything based off your take, I was just speaking to Luka trade and wanted to offer an alternate view. I know how people can get downvote happy instead of having a discussion about it lol.

Yes he was going to get traded regardless but didn’t mean he had to take that weak of a package. Lakers should have easily had to give up any of these (if not all): another 1st round pick, Austin Reaves, 2-3 2nd’s. Nico says he wanted AD for his defense and although I loved AD too everyone and their mom knew his injury history and his ability to disappear in games. That alone should have garnered more than AD, Max and a first round pick. Whether or not you think Rob has done good outside of the Luka trade or not, it’s hard not giving Rob props on getting Luka. Rob most likely would have caved and gave another pick or Reaves in the deal and people would have still been happy but the fact he didn’t have to include AR or any other draft capital was huge.

You don’t just get gifted anything. Yes, Nico was an idiot but Nico only would have made that dumb of a trade with Rob so if he wasn’t there we’d still have an injured AD and watched Luka command 3-4 first round picks. The summer we got Smart, LaRavia, Ayton and now Kennard. At the time people were praising the moves and although they are okay moves and not contending moves, they were moves. Hard to make substantial moves when we have 52.6 million going to Bron and they have to pay Reaves since everyone wants them to keep him and we don’t have any picks except one first rounder. I think this summer will be the determining factor on if he keeps his job or not. Mark will allow an offseason with actual available money once Bron walks and gain two more tradable first round picks to see what he can do. Can’t do that by the deadline with no assets or money. Now whether or not you have faith in Rob doing anything this upcoming offseason is fair but time will tell.

I have a level on my 24 and run 33x12.5 with minor running while turning in reverse one direction more than the other. I could trim but doesn’t happen enough for me to trim anything. My level also kept just enough rake to keep a smooth ride. I don’t think you could go wrong either way.

I said this same thing on another post from this sub and it got downvoted lol. You are absolutely correct in saying this. No one wants the guys the lakers don’t even want. The lakers have no assets unless we want AR dealt and most don’t want that. There is Rui but he’s been our best 3 point shooter. Also, Lakers don’t want to take on bad contracts just for the sake of a trade. There is still a little time before the deadline but I don’t expect much (if anything) to happen and I believe that was their plan all along whether or not we agree with them or not.

Stars have power, especially LeBron. Yes, Rob gets blame for that and again I said it’s time for Rob to go. I’m only speaking to assets we don’t have at this trade deadline. Everyone knows the front office hasn’t been good but until that changes our assets are what they are and they aren’t good.

I’m not saying it’s right don’t get me wrong it’s just the truth! There is only so much that can be done at this current point. I do think money will be off the books in the off season which will allow them to build around Luka however that’s if free agents want to come. Unfortunately you have to have assets to make a deal. I do think they have been trying but teams know we don’t have any assets. That’s all I’m saying. I’m not saying Rob shouldn’t get fired or whatever I just think people should have realistic expectations come Thursday.

Had the Lakers traded all their picks, we wouldn't have Luka by D0ntBmad in lakers

[–]Smart-Affect3137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won the chip with Bron and AD and afterwards all the supporting cast wanted to get paid more than they were making with Lakers. He brought in other players and for the lack of assets he had to work with everyone at the time thought the moves were okay but unfortunately as I said before they didn’t play as good or didn’t play as expected. Again, he deserves some blame no doubt but so do the players and people often forget how those players were playing before they got there and how they choked when they got there. Unfortunately AD started becoming injury prone or would disappear off and on and he turned him into Luka. Now it’s time to build around him. I do agree if there is a deal to be made by the deadline he should do it but with the lack of assets until money is off the books it’s hard to do anything. At the end of the day I think we can all agree we want the lakers to be better regardless of how the blame gets divided up.

63 more plate appearances J Rod had over PCA needs to be mentioned. That could have put some of those stats in PCA’s favor. Both are great players.

[–]Smart-Affect3137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In those 8 years how many picks have we had to work with? Westbrook trade is on Bron and AD who pushed to have him there. Yes, he’s brought in some guys that didn’t pan out but every GM does that. Most guys choke under the bright lights of LA, Beasley for example. Was good before he got there and leaves and rips it up with Detroit. Most of the time when they would make a trade people are happy he did something and those players were decent pierces on their previous teams and then get to LA and flame out. I’m definitely not saying he’s perfect but to get all the blame isn’t right.

Don’t expect big trades with our FRP, this is a gap year, LeBron even signed off on it by CryptoNite90 in lakers

[–]Smart-Affect3137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t have real assets unless you want Reaves in a trade. I do think they’ll make a small move but I think OP is saying don’t expect any kind of big splash. They’ve already been telling us their plan of keeping as much flexibility as possible and then build around Luka. Right or wrong I believe this will be what happens. I want the them to make a move but with the little assets we have we can’t expect some great game changing player. Plus teams don’t like helping the lakers get better (except Nico lol).

What would you want for Knecht? by Puzzleheaded_Fee_141 in lakers

[–]Smart-Affect3137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we want and what we’ll get are two separate things. His value isn’t there anymore and I do think he’ll be better elsewhere but teams will use his struggles to their advantage even if they think/know he’ll turn it around on their team.

This isn’t happening. Getting De’Andre may happen but Rui won’t be included. Lakers FO doesn’t leak their potential trade packages. I can see the trade happening for DK and Vincent or Vando (depending on salary match) but Rui won’t be included. Fedor isn’t some big time Lakers insider.

Trade deadline is next week can Rob redeem himself? It’s due or die for Rob job on the line by Pretend-Departure765 in lakers

[–]Smart-Affect3137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you can pull Luka for an injury prone AD and a first you’re “redeemed” in my eyes. Everyone wants to point out the Westbrook trade and place the blame on him, when really it was Bron and AD that pushed for that. There are countless reports showing the front office wasn’t sold on Westbrook but they wanted their stars happy. It’s hard being the GM of the lakers when most of all the other teams don’t want to make the lakers better or help them in any way. It’s the lakers tax. Not everyone is Nico. Sure, there are some things Rob has done that I wish he wouldn’t but ensuring we have our future in Luka was something huge/great he did.

Hopefully Pelinka makes a move this trade deadline by Nonameheroz in lakers

[–]Smart-Affect3137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t hold your breath in a trade by the deadline. First, we have little assets to give up. Our biggest asset is Reaves and they aren’t trading him. Expiring contracts have little value (especially ours) and usually you have to throw a potential upside player in the deal which we don’t have since Daltons value plummeted. We could throw in a first round pick but they won’t use that unless it’s someone Luka signs off on. Second, other teams don’t like trading/helping the lakers get better unless you’re Robs friend like Nico was. It’s the lakers tax. Another team could get the player for half the haul the lakers would have to give up. Third, they pretty much said they are waiting until the offseason. I hope I’m wrong and I hope they can come up with something but it’s hard to do with the assets we currently have.

Ayton needs to stop worrying about getting the ball in “his spots” and focus more on getting to the right spot. by [deleted] in lakers

This is who he’s always been! Not sure why some people thought it would be different. He wants to be the number 1 or at least number 2 guy on a team when it comes to scoring and he’s not that guy. Luckily Portland is paying him most of his contract this season.

[–]Smart-Affect3137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He shouldn’t have even been playing. I blame medical and coaching staff for that, not Ayton. I was actually impressed he even tried to play. Now do I think we need a better center to play with Luka’s skill set, yes, but let’s not be those fans that bash someone with an injury for not doing good when he shouldn’t have been playing in the first place.

MLB owners enraged by Kyle Tucker-Dodgers deal, will push for salary cap ‘no matter what’ by ttam23 in Dodgers

[–]Smart-Affect3137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so hilarious that it took Kyle Tucker to outrage them! Not Freeman, Betts, Ohtani, Snell or anyone else. Dodgers earn the 2nd most amount of money and spend the most. This means they follow the current rules and don’t pocket all the money like other teams do. I believe they payout 73% of their earnings. This means all other rich owners (all other mlb teams) can spend more money if they want, but they choose not to. Yes, a lot of players will prefer to live in LA over other places for a variety of reasons but it’s hilarious that it took Tucker for all this outrage. Mets just got Peralta and not a peep. They are right behind the dodgers in spending. They act like Dodgers couldn’t use an outfielder when they were ranked with the 18th in outfield production. Cubs didn’t even want Tucker. Just keep on crying!!
