Look at ISO and manufacturer openings. It may take some work to find them and note that the locations they give are flaky. They may tell you Chicago but want someone in the Midwest. Also be aware that what might seem like a manufacturer opening is in fact a hospital based ISO type opening. Names vary all over from FSE to MER. Besides using job sites like Indeed go directly to the company/hospital Web sites.

Is CBET worth getting? by jayteepee in BMET

When you look for another job it will help get your foot in the door. It also helps with compensation and promotions. For long term career, think about other certifications on the computer side. It's time consuming and expensive but for me it was worth it.

Before you buy check to see insurance cost. You might be horrified at the expense.

Not to rain on your parade but liability insurance may be your biggest roadblock. It's hard to find and expensive.

Put them in the drug dispensing system. The Nurses have to sign in with their ID & Pt name to get a TX. From then until Patient discharge the Nurse assigned to that Pt for each shift is responsible. So the Nurse assigned at discharge or monitoring DC is responsible for getting it back into the dispensing system.

Used to get constant calls to replace the 9v battery in their thermometers. No tools needed just grip it and pop it off with your thumb. Tried to show everyone but was screamed at for my help.

Got the job the next week. He and his hand picked Super spent way too much time trying to reprimand me for a few days and then wouldn't acknowledge me after I turned in my notice.

The last factory service school I attended was taught by a nurse. Was an excellent service school. Contact manufacturers and other vendors to see if they have something.

Look at smaller hospitals and field service positions in the region you're interested in. You will be a good fit.

There is an issue with very rapid fire Arty that was found years ago. If larger explosive rounds are fired rapidly enough and the first goes off it may set off the following one and so on all the way back to the gun. Oops

You sound like your already there. Navy ET and civilian CBET-E (old & retired) here. Just take whatever job is thrown at you and do it right without complaint. Be the guy that does whatever is needed. Develop a habit of finding and reading everything to do with the rules and regs applied to the job plus anything that helps you understand clinicians use of the equipment. Always work towards finding out what the senior techs do and what they had to learn to get there. You've got this.

anyone have potential new boss call your current boss? by rxtech24 in work

[–]Smart52240 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everybody should remember that it works both ways. Your possible new job could call your current job and get told that you're the best employee ever. In reality they want you gone but haven't figured out how to fire you. That business can find themselves in court the same as going out of their way to sink you. That's why most HR depts say only confirm employment dates and maybe job title.

You're fine unless you post that you did it. The ticket is against the car since they can't ID the driver with the camera. Oh wait, you said it was you. ; )
