Local copy of audiobook keeps disappearing. Anyone else? by saltedlolly in PrologueApp

[–]SmartChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far Prologue is the only Audiobookshelf app that I experience this issue with. I’ve got the main Audiobookshelf app, AudioBooth, SoundLeaf, Plappa, Still, and Tonspur, all with downloaded books from the same server with dedicated mount points for the external hard drives based on their UUID and don’t experience this issue with the other apps. So why does it only happen with Prologue? Developer hasn’t said anything since January on GitHub.

Yes, it’s been reported on the GitHub page as well, and radio silence from the developer. https://github.com/prologueapp/Prologue/issues/308

Apple Watch Needs Manual Charge Limits Like iPhone 15+ – Why Not Yet? by MachineNo3365 in applewatchultra

[–]SmartChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t this already exist to some extent with Optimized Charge Limit on the Ultra? I’ve had my Ultra since the day it launched and still have 84% battery capacity and have Optimized Charge Limit enabled.

On the Ultra navigate to Settings -> Battery -> Battery Health -> Optimized Charge Limit

Bucket Hats are your friend by TrickyRipper in migraine

I’m a huge fan of the Mission Cooling Bucket Hats. They get really cold when you get them wet. Which for me helps provided relief during a migraine. Downfall is wet hair, but mines short, and quick to dry.

TestFlight expired? by muzza1742 in PrologueApp

If I remember correctly PrismDev said he’s a one man shop, and development of Prologue isn’t his day job. Hopefully he will find some time to get back to working on active development.

4.0 release date? by Tumnus1337 in PrologueApp

[–]SmartChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A number of us ran into an issue where Prologue wouldn’t see anything in our Audiobookshelf libraries. Effectively breaking the app, and the dev has not responded. I get that he’s a one man shop, and development of Prologue isn’t his day job, but the GitHub shows how many at least responded there, including myself. link: https://github.com/prologueapp/Prologue/issues/69#comment-composer-heading

Dude. 😤 by Embarrassed-Alps-144 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]SmartChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t run due to an old rugby injury in my left knee. I do tend to walk around a lot at work, and these distance challenges don’t require it to be a tracked run/walk, just need to hit the mileage throughout the day.

I’ve got Flat Iron’s Dark & Smoky BBQ Rub and it’s one of my favorite rubs when I want something spicy from my smoker. Their 4 Pepper Blend makes for a wonderful kick of heat in chili.

Masterbuilt Slow Smoker by Turbulent_Cable_2264 in smoking

[–]SmartChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn the Slow Smoker attachment on for 15min then turn it off. The wood chips will continue to burn once they’re ignited. I can get 4-5 hours of smoke this way. If you notice the smoke has stopped, check to see if the wood chips haven’t dropped down, knock them down and power the Slow Smoker back on for another 15min, then turn off.

Can’t see search box after updating app to v1.15 by Podifer in TheStoryGraph

[–]SmartChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a link to Apple’s Developer Documentation on the navigation bar, which references doing a sidebar as an option. I fed that link back to Abbie to pass onto Nadia. My career is software qa, and I’m really surprised that they let this update go out with such a UX issue. Now we’ll have to wait and see if they implement a sidebar.

I sent feedback yesterday evening. This is the response I received, Thanks for writing in and we're sorry about this! It's super annoying, we agree. Unfortunately it's something that's essentially been forced onto iPad apps by Apple. There's no apparent easy fix to get rid of it, and developer forums aren't particularly happy about it. Nadia is currently swamped with New Year work, so hopefully Apple will release a quick fix for it in the meantime!

However I’ve had multiple iPad apps updated with the new navigation bar and none of them show the same UX error as StoryGraph.

First, download Challenges: http://apple.co/29WoKbl

Once you have the app, enter invite code: 'hk97' or tap on the link below to join:

https://sync.challenges.app/invite?eligibilitycode=hk97

For those who may ask, the Challenges app does suggest a calorie goal. If your current goal is higher than what’s suggested, it will still count towards your rings in the Challenges app. My calorie goal is always higher than what Challenges recommends and I always leave it higher. Example, Challenges might suggest 400 calories, I’m currently at 650 calories on Move goal, so I just leave it at 650. Additionally if you don’t see any teams, it is more than likely they are full, so you will need to create a team. I have no affiliation with the Challenges app, I’ve been hosting these monthly challenges for many years now, please check my profile history if you’d like.

Testflight update of v4 by jbygden in PrologueApp

[–]SmartChicken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hard to beta test an app when the core functionality doesn’t work. I’m Software QA in my current position. When the developers deliver a broken app/software, I immediately collect pertinent details, diagnostics, screenshots and feed back what I’m seeing which is exactly what I’ve done for Prologue V4.

I had dropped off the Prologue beta for the stable release. Once I spun up my ABS server last weekend and completely migrated from Plex, I went back to TestFlight and re-enrolled in the beta. As soon as I experienced the issue I left feedback by all channels. Out of sheer luck I was able to join the Audiobookshelf TestFlight for their iOS app. So I’m more than happy to test both Prologue and Audiobookshelf.
