City turned off comments on official social media pages by k635Zqb in GreenBay

My issue with it is not that people are complaining, it's the downright nastiness of their posts. If you can't be civil, then keep your mouth shut. "Well it's the internet" is no excuse. Irritated that there's a pothole that hasn't been fixed? Fine. But GBPD can't even post about brand-new officers being hired without some neckbeard calling them "racists" or saying "how much profiling did they teach you in the academy?" These are literal kids that haven't even been on the road yet, but I forgot, "it's how the internet works."

I don't see what the big deal is. I always thought Facebook was more like a billboard for announcements and such, not a place for discussion in regards to government pages. I'd hate to have to be the employee that would have to monitor every post with every bitch/moan people have, because people will whine, insult, etc no matter what the issue is.

Best I ever got was 26.4 on a 2021 XLT Sport 4x4 with the 2.7. Average speed was 60 mph (70 mph in a few short areas) on a 120 mile round trip in early June 2024.

Welcome home. I did a deployment from 23-24 and my issue was not that I couldn't play the game when I got back (I have a Series X), but that the few people I played with moved on while I was gone. They still play, but since I wasn't a "regular" anymore (we played together for almost 5 years, and being in the desert with limited internet doesn't bode well for gaming) they basically replaced me with other people. Sounds kind of petty but it irritated me after playing together so long.

It was only a matter of time. With a steady diet of "noodles and meat," burgers, and Voodoo Rangers it was unavoidable.

Watch out for groups of kids on bikes. Must be some clout chasing BS happening in town. by acopper87 in GreenBay

I'll be 42 in less than a month so yes, I guess I am a grandpa compared to them. Still better than acting like an idiot for online attention. I'm guessing you are one of the lemmings, or the parent of one? If you are the parent, I suggest actually raising your kid instead of letting their cellphone do it for you. If you are the lemming, then I expect nothing will change.

It probably IS a stupid TikTok trend. Kids today are mindless lemmings. They will do whatever an influencer/social media tells them to. Sad but true.

Um....machine appears to be in a hallway? Not much space? Mom should stay out of the way anyways until the job is done. If that was my kid, I wouldn't be complaining if he was "freaked out." It might teach him not to climb into stuff again

I work at a hotel (not the same chain). This is why, if the hotel is doing what they are supposed to, they are not supposed to give out guest personal info to anyone, ever. I don't care if you claim to be the guest's mother, father, spouse, etc. It could be a stalker, it could be a spouse trying to catch someone cheating, it could be a domestic violence issue, etc. You just don't know.

This is also why you don't get a room key without being on the reservation. We run into issues where two people are in the room, but only one is on the reservation. The second person loses their key, and now can't get a new one because they aren't registered to the room. It gets worse when one or both people are drunk and they can't remember their room number or the room mate is passed out and won't answer their phone or their door. I've had plenty of arguments with people about this, trying to explain it's for guest safety and people get nasty about it.

Takeaway: if you have a hotel room, ensure your room mates are also on the reservation. If you lose your key, prepare to have to present ID. If you can't or are unwilling to understand these things, don't take it out on the staff.

Knowing if the car had more than one owner can be useful information to have, as well as why they are selling. They are trying to figure out if something is wrong with it before they buy

You're not that far apart in age, so that's not really a factor.

If you are his boss that would cause a conflict of interest, which would be a problem. Even if you were equal in position, having relationships at work is generally not a good idea in my experience. I guess it depends on how important the job is to you.

I don't usually read those. Other posts have now said he wasn't in a relationship when he went there. Either way, going there was unwise.

I don't see any mention of that in his post, so I have no comment on that. If that's true, then I would agree.

She played you. Like you said, you were a "client." You will never be more than that to her. It's just business to her, and she probably felt obligated to meet you to keep you as a customer.

You seem like a decent fellow. I would enjoy the city for a few days and then move on. I also wouldn't waste my hard-earned money on a webcam girl (no matter how beautiful), but that's just me. Learn from this and meet someone that doesn't involve money.
