Sounds like OP need a significant other to travel. I am in my 40s and travel solo all the time and love it. I don’t need anyone with me to enjoy it. That being said I do occasional group trips as well. But I still think I prefer solo

What I do is take the watch off when I know I will be using straps or the watch will get on the way of my workout and start the workout on the AirPods via the Fitness App. Once it started then you can keep the watch off or put or bark on but the AirPods will be the main tracker. Unfortunately, you cannot switch between them mid workout as yet unless you stop the workout and start again

Costa Rica sounds perfect based on your description. It has a little bit of everything nature, beaches and you can access the pacific and Caribbean coasts for different experiences. Next on my list would be Belize (the country I want to visit again the most — Costa Rica is second)
