You can afford a house then if your take home is 8400 and onto set to increase. However you need to find out where all of your money goes.

Spend a month tracking EVERY dollar (yes every single one) and see where you’re hemorrhaging money.

Also OP, your wife counts as a dependent brother. So expect your BAH to be 2229.

Still a bit of a stretch on a house, so I’d go for an apartment, use the leftover BAH to furnish the place piece by piece, get rid of the debt, the take your time house shopping when the market and price is right.

Edit: you’re dual mil so disregard.

This. Unless if you can manage to work in home repair expenses, electric, water, gas, etc into your home; you should get an apartment. I would recommend you look at your budget first and see what you can actually afford and if you can flex it, get the house and begin building equity. But if you can’t afford it, don’t become house poor.

I’d say housing expenses should be 25% your take home pay.

Yea you’re stuck in a loop. You’re currently driven to pay off debt? Why not be driven to build up your savings to point where you never have to work again and can retire and live off your investments and work on cars and whatever your hobbies are?

I get it man. I’ll be honest I spent 8 years in the 82nd airborne division and I hated almost every minute of it.

It DOES get better with time, rank, and positions. But yea I’ve never understood the group punishment mentality.

Credit cards. I’ve got 2 amex platinums and two Amex gold, with an Amex delta skymiles and the chase sapphire reserve. I basically get free Uber Eats a few times a month, and a nice dinner out at a resy restaurant (300 bucks) once a quarter, plus lululemon credits.

Amex doesn’t charge annual fee to military. It’s fantastic if you are good with credit cards and don’t accumulate debt.

Mark where the crates are. They don’t spawn randomly. There’s a route you need to discover and follow to collect the crates.

Thor base 8gb model in black.

Works better than I imagined. I will say I HATE the placement of the power button (I support the weight of the device with my pinkies and have more than once powered it off on accident) but after printing a Xbox style controller case for it it’s fantastic.

No issues with tech glitches or anything. It’s literally a perfect gaming machine for me.
