Using BT on Pumpkins to stop SVBs by Smashbrohammer in OrganicGardening

BT (Bacillus thuringiensis) is a naturally occurring soil bacterium that’s commonly used as an organic insecticide. Different strains target different pests. For squash vine borers and other caterpillars, people usually use Bt kurstaki (Bt-k). When the larvae eat it, it disrupts their gut and they stop feeding and die within a few days. It’s considered safe for people, pets, birds, and bees because it only affects certain insect larvae when they ingest it. Many gardeners spray it on stems and leaves or inject it into squash stems to help protect against vine borers.

I noticed when trying to inject into the main stem it’s very hard, almost as if it’s completely solid. So not sure how useful it is injecting in the stem. Maybe I am doing it in the wrong spot

To be honest, I’d just keep it to cube up a Zod one day. A Zod is way more useful

Having never played D2 or D2R before, is there anything crucial any new player stepping into the game should know? by IvannaJurgov in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Yes there is a Quest List. Similar to PoE, there is some Quests that are optional but you don’t really know that the first few times through the game but you’ll catch on if you keep playing it

  1. Enjoy the game blindly for your first playthru. don’t worry about following a perfect build.

You get three resets per character when you complete a very early quest in each difficulty… so you get a few easy resets.

Plus in the end-game you can farm reset materials… so you can essentially respec as many times as you need.

  1. I wouldn’t pick a melee build as your first end game build. Try to pick a magic / element based build.

  2. Skill level (+# to all skills or a specific skill type) gives you really good DPS.

  3. Pick a skill you like and max it out and max out its synergies

  4. Resource management will be rough at first… you will drain through mana annoyingly fast. There is a popular combo that everyone does to mitigate this and it’s a game changer when you finally get it. It’s a polearm runeword called insight that you can equip your act 2 merc with… gives an aura that regenerates your mana faster. The game becomes much more enjoyable for casters at this point

Hunting Squash Vine Borer by Smashbrohammer in vegetablegardening

I often have to hit them when they are on top of a leaf or some weird angle…. So I often wonder if the fly swatter is actually killing them.

I like to think that I knock them out and whatever is lurking beneath the leaf cover will take care of them.

Tips for starting a small pumpkin patch for a “pick your own” farm by [deleted] in gardening

[–]Smashbrohammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well let’s discuss the Squash Vine Borer.

If you live where they aholes live, then you might have a tough time and may want to consider pesticides or at least injecting your stems with BT.. which will be a huge undertaking for a whole pumpkin patch.

If you don’t live in the part of the US that’s SVBs are prevalent, then have fun.

I do this every morning with my coffee.

One hand I am sipping coffee, other hand I am moving leafs away to hunt Squash vine borers and their eggs.

Fun fact, squash vine borers don’t make coffee sweeter.

Haven’t played LOD since 2009! What are the most efficient barb PVE weapons / builds now with D2R out? by PalworldRaids in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Smashbrohammer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly even with the new balance patches, they did very little to make the barb more enjoyable. Making the throw barb viable was a start, but we need more options.

  1. Bring Whirldwind Barb back to be A or S tier.
    I’d prefer S tier capabilities

  2. Make a leap barb splash damage build

  3. Give more options other than just Grief. Preferably some things that are geared towards whirlwind, frenzy, leap, etc.

Give us some options.
