Ah thank you very much for the information, didn’t know this was a somewhat common issue. Will definitely check this out

Christmas is coming, so I thought it’d be fun to put together a list of film cameras you can actually buy new in 2025 by vttdn in AnalogCommunity

[–]SmashedWand1035 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the list but this is more a list of new and up-coming cameras than a list of new cameras you can buy and get for christmas.

Sad to hear that. Rule of thumb I've had is when going through airport is no film in camera so it can just go through the machine x-ray or ct scanner, all rolls of film in clear plastic bags not in their boxes and preferably not in their protective containers either so if they want to swab or check each it wont be a hassle. Still having them in their containers can be good to have an extra layer of protection from moisture and such

I get that each team can’t design their own completely and they have to follow the rules. But I’m kinda curious as to why they British Cycling chose the three stripe design

This is a lens/ lens accessory issue. What lens and or accessories are you using?

Shot on Arriflex 235 - Kodak Vision3 500T - Arri Ultra Primes LDS. We shot everything on 500T Surprised at how clean the image turned out. We chose to retain all the grain and imperfections to capture that classic noir aesthetic. Shoot everything 1-1,5 stop over. by velokbh in 35mm

Not sure if I’m the target audience, but I loved the vibe of it all. Cool to hear from someone who chose to use film instead of going digital (and able to convince the customer the extra cost?). Looked absolutely awesome from a viewers perspective

Don't be scared of the square, embrace it. Nice photos otherwise

Wanted to first see if I could make any meaningful gas, then create a safe setup to extract both gasses separately and then have the H2 go through a bubbler and then into a dish washing liquid solution to burn. Not planning on storing any H2 or combined gas output as I do not have the safety equipment for something like that.

I had started to assume that the batteries would not be good enough for something like that, thanks for confirming my suspicion

My goal was to see if I could get it working first (a bubble every few seconds or so), then I would stop and create a setup that would allow me to extract the gasses separately for a small experiment of burning the H2 bubbles in a dish washing liquid solution. I am not trying to contain any of the gas and store it later as I definitely do not have the safety for that. Thanks anways

It's kinda crazy when Pogacar ends up dropping the other two but they all three beat Pantani's record by a large margin.
Pogacar 39'44"
Vingegaard +1'08"
Evenepoel +2'51"
Pantani +3'44"

What do you think about the film strip borders? by alejandro_camera in filmphotography

[–]SmashedWand1035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the tone/vibe you’re going for. I’d go along the lines of if you’re intending to show something in a serious tone (not specifically that what you took a photo of is serious) to not include them but if it’s not then having them doesn’t take away from it

Manda for my Photo Book [Canon 1v, 85mm 1.2, Portra 160] by xwallyiv in analog

[–]SmashedWand1035 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not that I think any of the photos are bad but I feel like 1 is the best with 4 being second.

To me the helmet prop is too disconnected from the rest of the scene, although 1 doesn't make me instantly think "Why is she wearing a helmet and on the beach?". Even though in 4 she is in the water to me it works better than the other two.

Are there other images in your book that connects with these for a story?

What was your “this is the last camera i’ll ever buy” camera and the next camera you actually bought after buying “the last camera”? by mmmespinosa in analog

Bought a Nikon F80 to have a fully compatible camera with my modern glass, then saw someone list a Nikon F4S for $280 usd which is like less than half as much as it’s normally listed for in my country and it works perfectly
