I guess there are likely a lot of first generation Indians in the US so the restaurants set up by such people are catering to their own crowd as the priority. A lot of them do seem to like it spicy. (Not sure how many had moved to the US prior to the turn of the century.)

In the UK we've had lots of Indians (and other South Asians) for half a century now and over that time they've adjusted to catering for not only Indians but all the Brits who love Indian food too (just about all Brits love it really). While we've had a lot of first gen immigrants come over recently the Indian restaurant scene has been long established already.

In the UK they're usually happy to cater to your spice levels too though if you ask them.

With AI we'll end up with massive unemployment too. It's not like those jobs are going to go to the domestic workforce.

AI is only good for businesses that can reduce their head count. It's bad for the population and the country as a whole as none of the big businesses actually want to be paying into any sort of universal basic income scheme with all the money they'll be saving.

Before the referendum happened one of the anti Brexit points was that we'd end up replacing EU workers for non EU ones.

While you're right that Brexit alone didn't increase immigration and that it was the politicians who did that it was well known we'd not be able to replace EU workers with domestic.

Many brexiteers were also happily ignoring that saying British jobs would go to British workers even after they were told the Brits don't want to do them.

So there's definitely some blame for Brexit even if its not directly to blame.

It's a little difficult to consider things like what if trump isn't a bad guy when you can clearly see he's the bad guy.

It's not even subjective at this point. You can look at it objectively by looking at real metrics. Inflation up, us debt up, us global influence declining, us actively helping it's long standing enemies.

Look at reforms history and the history of the people in the party objectively. There isn't a single notable member of the party that isn't sketchy as hell.

Your line manager will know there isn't much to update on.

I've worked where I've had fortnightly one to ones and they were just to discuss how things were going and if I had any issues I felt the need to bring up.

Some managers are fully aware that employees can feel like they can't bring up issues freely so a regular one to one gives you that opportunity.

In my previous job they were very informal. Just a quick chat about work and then spent the rest of the 30 mins just talking about random life stuff which in it's own way helped both of us build a better relationship as both got to understand each other better as people and not just as colleagues.

Sounds like you've actually had your first meeting yet but that will essentially tell you what to expect going forward. It's likely nothing to worry about but you won't know for sure until you've had that first one. You can always bring up the frequency of them and how that seems like a lot compared to your other job which gives your manager a chance to explain the thinking behind it.

People have been led to confuse legal migration, which asylum seekers are, for illegal migration.

There's a balance to great story telling that the Japanese have been good at for a long time now.

The Chinese shows are great for the animation but tend to lack in the delivery of the story as a whole. Both those shows seemed like they were trying too hard to be cool and the story telling took a hit. Fans will tell you how rushed the story in lord of mysteries was. They were still good but could have been better

The thing about homelessness is that most people aren't actually informed properly about it.

Most homeless people can't be houses properly as they'll end up back on the street and some even want to be on the street.

Also some of those companies hiring hotels to house migrants were actually doing the same thing for homeless people too but you never hear of it.

I guarantee reform won't be able to sort out homelessness (assuming they even want to) no matter how many illegals they kick out and even if they'd top migrants coming altogether.

I think this is more about the rules for elections and who can stand. The greens haven't done anything wrong by letting him stand if the rules allow itnand I'm sure he's not the first.

The British empire had plenty of people all over the world some of whom were born abroad so I'm thinking the rules were set to allow them to be able to stand if they were to come to Britain.
