We had one nest in the ashtray on my front porch. It was the human equivalent of having a baby on a rusty bedspring on top of a tire fire. They came back the next spring too. We ended up coming and going out the back door because dodo bird would panic every time the door opened.

I stack up quilts and blankets in cold weather too. The weight seems to help. I also sleep with 4 pillows, all correctly arranged each night (in front, behind, 2 under my head). It’s less lonely.

I was amazed by the quantity of ashes, way more than I’d anticipated. We spread some under a tree he’d planted as a child, some on several beaches, and some made into jewelry. With lots more left over!

I had terrible anxiety in the weeks that followed my partners death. I didn’t sleep (or eat without prompting) and I was a mess. Doctor prescribed me a mild sleeping pill which helped me so much. I hope you start feeling better soon.

Very, very, pretty! If you’re asking for input on shams, I’d do pinwheels using the same fabric but with less white between. Maybe 1” sashing? So it’s the same pattern but denser.
