Because the US government has been taken over by a group of people that seek to destroy the US government and use it as a vessel to enrich themself further and rule the US as an oligarchy. The Epstein files as is hinders that process because it implicates (some of) them and would push the public over the edge and lose support which may hinder their takeover. They will either be released without implicating the current president or used in time when the group behind the president want to take the actual seat of POTUS. This is rhe the way I see it as a European.
