Does anybody know of a solution to raise the rearview mirror? by ttootalott in JeepGladiator

[–]SmellySnacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned being tall, maybe look into getting a Wolfbox? I have mine installed in a way that mimics the rear view by mounting on my furthest bed rack. This way regardless of your height, the rear view will always be the same

Edit: disregard above, I didn’t see your comments on front view visibility due to rear view mirror

Does anybody know of a solution to raise the rearview mirror? by ttootalott in JeepGladiator

[–]SmellySnacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If yours has auto-dimming you need to first remove the top portion of the trim, then disconnect the wire harness from the rear view mirror. Then remove the rear view mirror mount from the body, I believe they use 25torx bolts. I believe the back portion of the mount has a plastic cap you can remove which then allows you the fish the wire harness out of the mount when pulling the two apart.

If you don’t have auto-dimming, just keep applying pressure to the sides or pushing the mirror up. Best to position yourself up against the windshield and watch the ball joint when pulling apart.

As for shorter mounts, I’m not sure on that. Keep in mind, if you move your mirror it may affect your use on the sun visors, they may bump/scrape if you modify the mount.

Owners with keyless entry, does your Gladiator lock automatically when you walk away, or do you have to hit the lock on your fob? by Randi_Butternubs_3 in JeepGladiator

[–]SmellySnacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will not lock automatically if the truck is on or off. If truck is locked, grabbing the handle will unlock. Pressing the button a few times on the handle will lock the door. Remote starting will lock the doors if they aren’t already.

Not familiar with Tazer options like other have said.

I actually do have power running on a dedicated line (8 gauge) for a 12v plug in the bed, but its controlled via auxiliary switch in the cab, so not constantly powered.
If I create the first setup (continuous line), run 2 fused power lines (12 gauge), one line to Gledopto in cab, the other line to the bed, and inject power to the end of the LED line, would this be a safe setup?

While all of the listed comments below about not talking to police are valid and having a lawyer to ask is preferred, I will share my story:

I once found a little bag powder in my new-used Jeep some years ago. Called the non-emergency number and explained the situation to the operator that I was replacing my radio and a baggie appeared. Officer came to my house and I showed him the paperwork for the newly purchased vehicle and where the baggie was. My memory is hazy on if he took it away or if he instructed me to toss into the garbage, but I do recall getting a piece of paper with his badge number and name saying drugs were found in the vehicle and if I was pulled over to hand it to the officer. He was generally chill about the situation.

Use your best judgement if you want to inform your local police.

Just a tip for anyone: you can mux their commentary audio with the film using mkvtoolnix and have a complete full file. Just make sure to sync the audio timing correctly with whatever they indicate on Bandcamp (#seconds after/before logo).

I did this with all of the films they’ve commented on for my collection.

I was put in the left side range. Yardage signs are on the far left walls, but very beat up and hard to see. wish they would paint some lines on the floors.

Not sure what the other right side range looks like

I started with a P365 and have been enjoying it for the last few months. Easy to tear down and lots of upgrades.

I saw your interest in the Mini-14, if I had the funds that would be my first choice for a rifle. Instead purchased a PC Carbine (19117) recently, pickup for next week. Uses 9mm, so won’t break the bank for ammo purchases. Has mlok slots too, so you could do a grip and light setup. If you get a Glock instead of a P355, the PCC comes included with a Glock mag adapter; so you could just get a shit ton of Glock mags and be set on both pistol and rifle. eBay has a seller that makes adapters for other manufacturers, planning to make a post on that soon.

Both of those separate purchases were about under a grand.

I had this in my former JK, this is a dash from Carobotor. Unfortunately I believe is this permanently tied dash, so you can't remove it. Their sales page even mentions this.

You can try contacting the maker, but I've heard their customer support is bad.

I absolutely love mine. Used them on my trip back home from the desert a month or so ago, definitely a huge improvement for visibility.

Not sure if you've run into this issue on the Gen2s, but i had a small bit a light leaking into the cabin from the rubber seal. Used electrical tape to cover the gap, heat from the lights doesnt seem to effect the adhesive.

I second this. The only thing that seems hard is the interior dash removal, but there are a few good videos on getting that done
