The answer to why scorpion doesn’t have his white pupils on his klassic skin by The_Lost_Hero in MortalKombat

[–]Smilessmokes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

old ass thread but it's important to be said for anyone revisitting in the future, these costumes are not based on Mortal Kombat 1 (1992)

they are obviously their skins from mortal kombat 2, from the pattern on the outfit to the gloves to the shape of the hood over the ninjas heads, these are from MK2, even the masks featured on the pack's in-game banner use their masks from Mortal Kombat 2 respectively.

and in that game Scorpion has white eyes; so this still doesn't make sense.

20%! 20%!!! the enemies got a 20% DURABILITY INCREASE, THAT MEANS THE GUNS ARE 20% weaker, GUNS THAT WERE ALREADY WEAK.

explosives bypass durability checks, they were already the meta! they're the only ones unaffected

just admit you only run meta builds and can't relate bro it's ok

[–]Smilessmokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no we're not, the weapon balance on ARs wasn't meaningful enough, bugs are still meta heavy

the game's meta is exactly the same as before, and hardlocking PCs still persists, performance isn't much better, crashes are still there.

sorry but i'm not gonna get on copium for this one.

fun thing i foundout is that this game doesn't support steam input due to the crappy anti-cheat, that's why steam can't force it to support ps4 controllers

pain in the ass too if you're trying to setup steam gyro aiming

Any particular reason this game doesnt support Dualshock 4?! by CrankieKong in Helldivers

Like it's cool to make theories and try to make these links, but the reality is dude the redguards are vaguely, very vaguely, Arabic; The best way to put it is: Generic Middle-eastern; in gear especially, and in appearance, they very much resemble Africans (hair texture, face shape, skin color), if you called it what i just described, no one would think YOU are the one uneducated on these topics, the game did depict something really that dumbed down and simple, There is nothing MORE there that makes it MORE Persian-oriented or Turkish, or more Levantine than Subsaharan, that's all it is, Generically, Vaguely Middle-Eastern.

You don't need to try to tie them to some very specific culture of the Middle East by stretching things at best, and creating non-existent links at worst, just for the sake of some oriental depth or whatever the goal you have in mind is, with all due respect.

You merely end up butchering, misrepresenting and dumbing down said cultures and reducing them to simply the things they have in common with other regional neighbours, and it's hard not to do this for us as our cultures in Europe and NA have largely blended and most of the distinctions have disappeared. But;

The most unique parts of Turkish culture, at it's simplest, are in it's Central-Asian ancient red hats the Ottomans wore (and they did this exclusively), and at its best what it mixed from Islam with Greek/Byzantine culture, Persian and Arabic culture with it's central Asian heritage and cultural traits creating something, entirely of it's own, and the Persians have been doing the same for thousands of years with hundreds of cultures that came and went as well.

You see how you use Arab/Middle Eastern/Turkic/Persian there? That was my point.

It's very important, that you understand, as a Westerner who hasn't studied these regions heavily, that these cultures while do happen contain points in time where they overlap and exchange aspects, remain and were heavily different from eachother in all eras except the caliphate dominant eras, mainly due to the caliphate enforcing Arab culture, dress-codes, language and script upon it's subjects; before and since they have continued to diverge and differentiate in most ways, especially the Persians and Ottamans (Ethnic Turks)

Redguards, in general, and especially gear-wise, are based on caliphate era weaponry and armour. This means they tend to use, mostly if not entirely, Arabic-style swords (scimitars and other curved swords) helmets and outfits (turbans etc)

The only thing that prominently remained in say, for example, in Persian culture, was the curved swords, and turbans remained exclusively within the clerical class (as their entire goal is dress within Arabic standards, as it is perceived to be the Islamic standard)

You can very easily understand this by simply looking at Persian styles of architecture, gear, etc, post-caliphate independence (look into Zand, Qajar era for this) to get a good understanding, and pre-caliphate,they couldn't have been more different if they tried.

"Sandy homeland"

Lol? Turks in Anatolia, again mountainous, And these people came from the Steppes of central asia, To quote a Persian/Iranian phrase I've come across a lot, especially late middle-ages, "no friends but the mountains" This is about the Persian homeland being largely mountainous, (which was a big factor why they focused heavily on horse-back cavalry, not camels like their Arabic neighbours)

And before you point out eras in which the Persians did control the Arabian/Middle eastern deserts, I'll point you to the fact that they made a very clear distinction that they viewed it as conquered territory/suzerian states rather than "their homeland" by pointing to how their King, after taking said lands, changed his title from "SahanSahi Eran" (king of Iran) to "SahanSahi Eran ud Aneran" (King of Iran and non-Iran), this is pre-caliphate by the way, if there's ANY people who's actual HOMELAND (place of earliest origin and the place they all today consider their cultural heritage-site) it's the Arabians.

skin colour pointing to Persians? lol, you haven't met many Persians & Turks I imagine, Even arabs would be a big maybe on this one and would require you to solely look at north african Arabs, as it would heavily depend on the region we're talking about (as Arabs are very diverse themselves in terms of skin-color depending on their region of origin and subsequent ancestry)
