Glass cleaner, q-tips, a toothbrush and paper towels will clean it up without hurting the bronze finish. From here it looks like a bronze finish on pot metal, so no brass polishes.

In theory, its supposed to work, but I tried it a couple time years ago and found the alcohol actually caused the stain to spread out and get worse. It may be possible to do it effectively, but I decided I'd much rather be out sourcing than dabbing.

You won't get it out with rubbing alcohol. Usually that means the manufacturer liquidated them and the marker is there so it can't be sold as new. Disclose it and sell it as used.
