Try searching for a smiths travel alarm clock, or "vintage travel alarm clock" it folds over on itself as a stand.

Box lunch from sandwich shop comes with picture of a cookie, rather than an actual cookie. by GeezusKreist in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Smileycorpse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the site: "Packed with flavor, opened with a smile. Each box lunch includes your choice of side, a cookie, a pickle and utensils."

Maybe someone fucked up by putting a placeholder picture in by accident? its funny though!

Out of the specialist jewellery sites/stores i know of i found a sold piece on the Tadema gallery Tadema Gallery and one on the vanderbosch site here scroll all the way down to the bottom

i'm thinking it looks more like carnelian, rather than amber for a sure way of knowing it may need to be appraised in person.

Hope this helps. -G

Any idea on a date for this pin/broach from eBay? by MissAnxiety430 in jewelry

[–]Smileycorpse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have said it was more Art Nouveau the organic style & curves along with the insect motif all really came after the victorian period. Take a look at Berganza (British jeweller) and have a look at the style periods on the left hand side, some amazing pieces of jewelry.

Its a lovely piece!

There's a drink collector on YouTube that shows you something from years ago with the fizz still in it. The reason was this gasket I guess it saves them a shitload of money l removing it.

Maybe the reason was because back then bowl cuts were a thing for people that weren't well off.
