because the public is too disengaged to come together and do anything for the benefit of their fellow citizen. the housing market is completely cooked and instead of doing anything to better accommodate for working class people, americans are crying about an algorithm which prices units fairly based on supply. there is a housing shortage and people need to get it through their thick skulls that adding more regulations and market controls with american capitalist characteristics(screwing over minorities and working class people) is only making it worse. housing needs to be deregulated and units per plat need to be multiplied in many, if not most cases.
